I finally put the bag of clothes / shoes into the donation bin this morning after driving around with it all day yesterday.

Keep DS in your prayers, as they're adding another medication on top of the heart pill he's already taking.
Tomorrow I need to pick up DD from school & bring her home for the long weekend. Wednesday is pie-making day.
The house still has aways to go before I consider it clean.

Busy how is your son reacting to the new medication?
Tomorrow is going to be a very busy day (for most of you too I'm sure!)
Wed

- dentist 11am

- phone appt 3 pm
- mark 19 papers
- Wed cooking: prep green beans, prep root vegetables, make cornbread
My friend is bringing the starter, and DH and DS3 are making the dessert.

List for this week:
Dry out the rest of the outdoor pillows Empty all 3 trash cans Steam clean the office and guest room carpet Clean the steam cleaner for mom to take home Take a box to Goodwill wax both new faucets
Dad's list: replace the kitchen faucet replace the bathroom faucet help fix the drawer slides - if there's time
Today I have a bit of work in the morning but I'm hoping to be done by noon so that I can clean and prep for Thursday. There's not a whole lot to do food wise, just put the turkey in the roaster when it arrives. But I do need to clean up the kitchen, vacuum, finish some laundry, basically all the stuff I should have done last weekend!

Mr. I sound sick but am not actually sick, got to stay home yesterday from school. Between the snow days, the sick day and the doctor's appointment on his half day, he has gone to school twice in 2 weeks. He starts Thanksgiving break today. But he has been making excellent progress in helping me declutter. Between the two of us we got a black contractor bag of junk out of the basement. My mom is confused why we are working down there when up stairs needs more help but there is stuff up here that needs to go into storage and there is no room down there to put it.
And for all the work we put into getting stuff out yesterday I blew it today. Joann's is having an online sale today with it's black friday deals. I needed one skein of yarn and they didn't have what I was looking for. I didn't need the 12 yards of fabric, elastic and other goodies that I got.

Those black contractor bags are HUGE, good job!!! Lol @ the fabric purchase though. At least you don't have people bringing you random craft projects and fabric like my great aunt does!

Debt, so far, so good on DS's new medication. It'll take a couple of weeks for everything to "kick in".
My pumpkin pies are out of the oven & cooling. DD is complaining of a sore throat, & since one of her roommates has been sick for a few weeks, I'm going to take her in to make sure she doesn't have strep. We are also going to pop in at Michael's before the Black Friday chaos begins, as there's some craft supplies she needs. It sure is nice to have her home again!
I think we'll need to shampoo the carpet again tonight. Bad Boy Puppy threw up on it (again) and it's just not cleaning up well. Not like there's anything else we need to do before tomorrow.

Well, no positive on the strep yet. They'll call back Thursday or Friday if anything comes of it.
Now I've got to whip my train wreck of a house into shape...

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! Don't overdo it in the kitchen today.
Since DH has to work (but at least his company is closing early), our company will be arriving for a late evening meal. But, there's plenty of work to do right now.

I hope everybody enjoyed their Thanksgiving! Ours was very nice. It was low-key since there were only six of us. Unfortunately DS2 had to work late . I stayed up late clearing up. There is a mountain of leftovers in the fridge! DH and DS3 ended up making 4 pumpkin pies! DS3 took 2 to school, and I'll take one to the parent-teacher conferences tonight. No marking or work this weekend (besides those conferences tonight). I'm done with marking for the semester except for finals. Those start on Thursday and last 3 weeks. Mine are relatively spread out so I'll be fine as long as I start each set as soon I get them. Fri- Shitepile - pharmacy

Interesting Thanksgiving over here, my dad was in a cranky mood so I had to cajole him to finish the second faucet. The turkey I made turned out really good though so today I'll be cleaning the kitchen for a few hours.
List for this week:
Dry out the rest of the outdoor pillows Empty all 3 trash cans
Steam clean the office and guest room carpet Clean the steam cleaner for mom to take home Take a box to Goodwill - Friday
wax both new faucets Move dog food container to the garage
re-pot the fig leaf plant
Dad's list:
replace the kitchen faucet replace the bathroom faucet
help fix the drawer slides - if there's time

We had a great Thanksgiving, 13 at the table, and 4 who came later for dessert! Also happy about my packed fridge with all the left-overs. Now to squirrel away all the odd ball serving pieces I rarely use that are out all over the kitchen and DR tables after being washed. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Those black contractor bags are HUGE, good job!!! Lol @ the fabric purchase though. At least you don't have people bringing you random craft projects and fabric like my great aunt does! Ah Chocolate but I do! My neighbor brought over some fabric yesterday and asked if I could make her a couple of simple blankets for her to use as gifts. OK 4 blankets( they only take about an hour, hour and a half tops), and matching pillow case dresses for her DD and her American Girl doll. I plan to pound them out this weekend and then work on my own stuff. I have my own blanket to make( already cut out and started, just ran out of white thread), a few rifle strap covers and a super hero cape to make. Every year I tell myself I will not make anything for the holidays because I hate deadlines and yet I do it. And for me selling stuff and craigslist or the facebook sites isn't worth it unless it's in demand. I did sell the bouncy seat and portable swing left from DS was a baby but I just don't have the patience to sit around and wait for it to sell. And I'm glad to hear of the good Thanksgivings. Mine was ok I guess as I spent some of it sick( nothing unusual for me since I have tummy issues) and an hour at Urgent Care because DS came down with an ear infection and it is not like him at all to cry in pain. Usually it has to be almost to the point of ear drum rupture before he even mentions it hurts. But DH was sent home from the family gathering with lots of food for me so I don't have to worry about dinner for a few days.

Debt, he's back to normal already. I swear nothing keeps this kid down. I've had him sent home from school with the nurse saying "Did you know the kid has a 102 fever?" Ah nope I didn't because he was bouncing off the walls when he left this morning.

Since the kitchen sink cabinet had to be emptied I took some time to clean it out today. Lined the bottom with cardboard I covered in contact paper and then pared down my cleaning supplies. It looks good now!
Kitchen is pretty much back in shape too, got the turkey stock done and ready to freeze.
Next up is a trip to drop off at goodwill and apical up a few things I need at the grocery store.

I was in my sister's house yesterday. That always gives me incentive to get mine in order. Her house is just plain gross. We aren't usually invited over to her house but I was taking her son to the airport. Anyway today I found the muscle to get a twin bed bookcase headboard up into the attic along with the foot board, bedrails etc. It is nice to get that out of my office/sewing room.

It's been so crazy here that I'd forgotten I hadn't reported in. Marti, I'm sorry to hear your DS was ill, too. DS had another fainting/seizure episode, & went into the ER on Thanksgiving morning. He recovered quickly enough that we had our big meal in the evening. Still no clear answers. Today is the last day that he'll be wearing his heart monitor, & then it will get mailed in so they can process all of the data it has collected. Talking with the office of the heart specialist, they're not convinced they've got the whole picture yet.
We didn't go shopping on Black Friday, except online. But, except for stocking stuffers, we're mostly done. But, I haven't even begun working on Christmas cards yet, & we usually send out quite a few.

Oh poor DS and poor Busy. I hope they get to the bottom of this once and for all! You must be so frustrated and worried. I'm glad you were all able to celebrate Thanksgiving, even if it was later in the day. This is the last week of classes for the semester. My first set of finals come in Thursday (14). Then I get 65 the following Friday, and 36 the Tuesday after that ... for a total of 115. Marking Week 49MSc finals - 14 papers ETA: I spent the day pottering around at home. I did 2 loads of laundry and ran the dishwasher twice (we finished the Thanksgiving leftovers) . ETA2: The dental work continues ... the dentist put in another permanent crown last Wed. I have 3 more Wedappts scheduled for Dec. I really hope he can do the last 3 crowns this year but I'm not sure. But the end is finally in sight!!! Beth, what did you decide in the end? Any progress? Bobosensei?

My house looks like a tornado came through, but it was mostly DD picking out what to bring on campus with her, & leaving other things at home. (Wait until she moves back home for the Christmas holidays!)
Tomorrow I'll attempt to get the house back into reasonable shape, & make some doctor appointments. I'd better drop off my Mom's laundry, too.

My turkey cooked super fast and was done 1.5+ hours ahead of time. So I turned the temp in the turkey roaster down and started on the sides. Mixed success with the sides. And the turkey was still moist and yummy. Usually my turkeys are done about 30 minutes ahead of schedule. It's the only think I do that's early... Kids and I got the new outdoor decorations put together and outside on Friday. So we have a Rudolph and a Dog right next to each other on the front lawn. Because that's where the kids opted to put them. After I got them to understand the rules: 1. they have to go on one side of the lawn so we don't shovel or snowblow the electrical cord. 2. they need to be at least 2 feet from the edge of the walkways so we can shovel snow. Scott and I did a bunch of shopping for the kids on Sun. I think the rest of the stuff if going to be ordered online for them. We're getting them kindle Jrs. too, mainly because we don't want to share our Kindles. I did get a few things organized. I've got the winter gear in a bag, which I forgot to grab this morning for school. And a small bag for dcp. Which I also forgot this morning. I sorted a few more kid papers into their piles on the window ledge. Which I'm going to have to move so we can put Christmas stuff there.

Dh's aunt keeps threatening to give me all her fabric from when she took up quilting for a year. She already brought my MIL several boxes of old patterns. Like 1970's patterns.

Are there quilting groups anymore?
I know my Mom's church has a knitting or crocheting group. I think they mainly do mittens, hats and scarfs but donations of yarn might be appreciated. I'll have to ask her about that next time I talk to her.

I overslept this morning so I forgot everything I meant to bring today. Sigh.
I did get laundry going last night. So tonight is folding. And tackling the kitchen because we've been ignoring it. Plus the kids and I haven't had dinner at home for a couple of days now. Sun. we went to the movies and had dinner out. Last night I had to work late so Mom picked the kids up after school, fed them and delivered them home. I got home in time to put them to bed. So the kitchen is a wreck.
And I need to get invites out for an Arbonne party I'm hosting.
