Beth, my mom quilts and my grandmother knits for various groups. Mom's made a few lap quilts for places like hospice. There is no shortage of people I can pass the craft stuff on to. I still have room in the area that I have for sewing for more fabric storage. DH bought me a tall set of metal shelves for my area and I still have the small set. I'm an impulsive sewer and rarely plan out my projects.
But on the decluttering front, the person who wanted the swing and bouncer forgot she was supposed to pick them up yesterday and said she would swing out today. Never nailed down a time though and if she doesn't show up today I'm going to tell her I'm sending them on to someone else. Listed DS's old highchair last night and some one was here within a few hours to pick it up. Did not expect it to sell within literally a minute after listing it. I also have a diaper box of baby junk to donate, a grocery bag of clothes for my nephew, a kitchen garbage bag started of baby linens and a decent sized box of random baby stuff. I was going through the kid corner in the basement while waiting for the lady to show. I do have someone who might be interested in the stuff but I'm not selling it, just giving it away. Don't have the patience to list the little things. Of course nothing was organized when it got dumped down there and I have to go through all the bins to make sure toys have all parts, etc. I found the toy bar for the swing in with a box of my stuff in the storage room, the toys for the high chair in with the cloth diapers and clothes in with a bin of toys. And I have several boxes and bins of toys in the attic to go through as well.

Beth, my aunt also has a quilting group, my DD named them when she was little. She always called them the old ladies when she asked my aunt if they were coming over that day. Aunt is the oldest in the group by at least a decade. lol Progress on packing is slow, there is absolutely no room to stack boxes once they're packed. I have about a dozen in my living room and might be able to get a few more on there but not too many. My sister is moving this weekend as well and they rented a truck for the weekend. BIL plans to get theirs done on Friday and will park the truck at my house that evening. I'll be filling it up until I can't stand it anymore that night

Wed list
- work out oral marks - put them into excel - send them to students
- bottle bank - dentist 12 pm - supermarket (DD toothbrushes) - bank (deposit check) - laundry
- mall (DD underwear, white shirt)
Just one more day of regular classes, then I'm on a reduced teaching schedule for 5 weeks. But I have 115 finals to mark plus other things (a one-day certification course, a one-day meeting on the main campus, proctoring).
My friend from work has friends whose DD is in the same place as my DD. They are going to visit their DD at Christmas and have kindly offered to bring my DD a package! I need to get those items by Tuesday so I can give them to my friend when we do the certification. I'll also get DD a few treats. :-)
ETA: Since the dental work is nearly done, I decided to start taking care of some other "deferred maintenance" lol. I have a GP appt later this week and a gyn appt in February.

I am planning my box to send DS in the next week or so...postage across the country is so expensive! Picking up some treats for him as well. Will be a strange Christmas season without him!

I got everything done, I even went to the mall. I got everything DD asked for except a few items from the pharmacy. I still need to get the "extras" though.
My tooth is killing me ... I hope it's just because he worked on it today. :-(

Packed the stuff in my closet up and even threw some stuff out. Shoved the boxes back in the closet so I can walk.

We did it - well, did most of it. I convinced my daughter that either she could die by my hand, or we would clean her room. We threw out 4 bags of trash - little slips of paper that she writes random things on. I even found the tag from our bath mat - really? That is like hoarding behavior. We also have a huge pile to go to Goodwill, and a box of Barbies that I hope to pass along to someone we love. Her floor is completely clean, and her closet is empty enough that we were able to hang clothes in it. She was super-dooper excited to hang up all her stuff and have a nice closet where she could see her clothes, etc. For a "reward" (she knows this is lame too) I let her go on Amazon and pick out any waste paper basket she wanted. And tomorrow we are going to go to Target and get more hangers. I also told her that from now on, I expected her to spend 10 minutes every night throwing away paper and putting her clothes where they belong. I said that I was going to sit in her room and stare at her every night until she did it. I hope I can follow through on that - it was fun hanging out with her in her room - even if I did stop to yell at her for taking all my measuring spoons from the kitchen and finding them randomly on her floor. She has 8 baskets (you know those bookshelves that are cubes - she has one and it has baskets in it.) We went through 2 or 3 of them, the rest still need to be purged. She also has a giant bin in her closet that appears to be random stuff. And all her desk drawers are stuffed full of useless papers. We decided to do start those next week. My goal is to get her desk clean enough that she could actually do homework there if she wanted to. I feel so relieved. Now I just have to do the same purge in my office.

Nice work, Thyme!
Debt, I hope your tooth feels better tomorrow.
Sorry for all of you who will be missing your kids over the Christmas holidays.
Well, the neurologist snuck in an appointment for DS at the last minute today, but frankly, it was sort of a waste. They're telling me they don't believe it's seizure activity, & they're sending us back to the heart specialist. Aargh! On the positive side, the regular pediatrician that DS goes to called me today, & I'm having both specialists send all of their notes on DS to him. The only problem is, I have to sign paperwork showing I "approve" of that information being shared. They refuse to do it by email, so I need to download the permission slips, sign them, & drop them off at both of the specialist's offices. Obviously, they're not trying to make the process easy. And, DS still doesn't get to see the heart specialist until the end of next week. So, in the meantime we're praying we can keep DS out of the ER.

Busymom the fact that there's no seizures sounds like great news! Hopefully you'll get more answers next week. I hope DS doesn't have any more episodes.
Thyme that's great progress! I suggest you keep going while you're both on a roll. ;-) My kids used to hoard the strangest things but they grew out of it (DS3 used to hoard the small chocolate squares they give you with coffee here. They all turned grey. It was a miracle we didn't have an infestation of something.)
Chocolate how is the move going?
I went back to the dentist today because of the pain. He readjusted the temporary crown and thinks it will be OK, although he said it's still too early to be sure. It's better, so I'm hoping he's right.
The semester is over! I'm on a reduced teaching schedule till 12 January, but next week is busy. Monday I'm proctoring and teaching, Tuesday I'm doing training for a certification, Thursday I'm at the main campus, and Friday I'm teaching and picking up 65 finals. Those really need to be finished by Tuesday when I get 36 more. That is going to be tight.

Weekend list
- bookstore (DS3 school supplies) - pharmacy (DD disinfectant) - school files - laundry - Shitepile
My tooth is much better so he'll do the molds for the last two crowns on Wed, and hopefully put them in the Wed after that.
I just spent nearly 3h going through my teaching files and binders. I have duplicates of all my binders at home. I never use them so I finally decided to get rid of them. I got rid of a huge amount! I still have two more small binders to do but I need the "originals" and they're at school. I'll take both "duplicates" on Monday, I can probably do at least one while I proctor the exam.
ETA: By now I've spent about 5h on this today. I've gotten rid of all but ONE of the files/binders from my old teaching jobs (but not the extra/occasional ones I still do, obviously). I kept just one "old" binder, the one from my first university teaching job. Ironically, we were at that former boss's house today lol!

Pluggin and Debt. Those holidays without (all) of our kids, are the result of us doing our jobs as parents well. The kiddos launched and we miss them. I got lucky this year since I was able to talk my kiddos into celebrating Xmas a week early this year. I'll be by myself on the holiday proper, but it was that or not being able to get all together. And I'm nothing if not practical

I think that's a great idea, Xmas Lover, to just get the family together when they can make it over. Especially on DH's side of the family, it's really difficult to get everyone together. There always seems to be conflicts on schedules.
The great news here is, I'm actually completely done with my gift shopping for Christmas. (I still need to get stocking stuffers.) I think tomorrow I'll begin wrapping everything. The bad news is, I haven't even begun writing up Christmas cards, but fortunately, on my side of the family, it isn't considered bad form if the cards arrive a month or two after the holiday is over. Now I need to figure out what types of candy my nieces & nephews would like this year.

This was a whirlwind weekend, and no home maintenance happened! Did get some Christmas shopping done, and attended a bridal shower. Plan to get a tree one evening this week, but DH and I have crazy weeks coming up, so who knows when it will happen. Trash is outside, running the dishwasher, but no laundry got done. Luckily we have enough underwear for 2 weeks.

I've been paying a lot of bills the last few days, & I really need to catch up on filing that paperwork.
I'm beginning to look for boxes to put Christmas gifts in so I can begin to do some wrapping. And, DH found my big box of Christmas cards, so I can get going on writing those up, too. Christmas is coming!

I was taking a close look at the gifts I needed to get wrapped, & noticed a large snag on a sweater we were going to give to DS. So, I ran over to Kohl's, & luckily they still had one more in the same color & size that looks to be in good shape. I did manage to get 6 gifts wrapped tonight. I have so much gift wrap that I use that rather than gift bags, although I've got a few of those around the house, too.

Well we're slated to get a big storm starting tomorrow afternoon so I need to get the leaves raked up early tomorrow. Working on laundry and wrapping gifts tonight so I can ship boxes starting tomorrow. I'm hoping to stay in during the storm because we already had flooding after 2 days of rain last week.
Been wrapping gifts and I need to pick up a few more things - maybe online - and get things finished before Christmas.

Well, I'm hosting a makeup type party on Sunday. Invites went out on Friday and I've gotten 2 nos, 2 yeses and 1 maybe at this point. DH keeps commenting on how they're going to see our crappy house and I'm like "Dude, if we wait until the house is fixed, we'd never have anyone over." But I do have to get into high speed cleaming mode tonight. And since the dispatch rollout went smoothly (so far) this morning, it's not looking like I'm going to have to stay late. I've got alternate kid care arranged and by God, I'm going to go home on schedule and clean for 2 hours without DH or kids to hinder me. I did start rearranging furniture in the living room for Christmas. I've almost got room for the tree. I do have it if we decide to shut down the front door and put furniture in front of it.

Okay, final thing on the list is to make it to the Post Office to ship some packages. Will try to get that done asap so I can have my kitchen table back.
Update: made it to the Post Office and UPS so 2 more packages out the door! Gotta put out the trash cans tonight, we're expecting a major storm and I will be battling down the hatches. Wind gusts up to 50 mph, lots of rain and a fog advisory for the rest of the week.

I have been MIA. I scratched both corneas with my contacts on Sat night and I have been completely out of commission since then. DH took me to the ER on Sun and I've been lying in the dark till today unable to read or write. So I missed work on Mon (which means I don't get paid) and missed my training on Tues.
Good luck to everyone. I just wanted to check in but I don't want to overdo it so I can hopefully go to my out-of-town meeting tomorrow.

Ouch. That hurts Debt! On all fronts. I hope you're healing well.
Ok, I did get some cleaning done last night. And the big bag of outgrown kid winter gear is in the car for me to drop off at school when I pick up the kids. YAY! I cleaned the small bathroom and the living room yesterday. Did a bit of work on the kitchen too. And made soup too.
And the icing on the cake is that I got damn near 8 hours of sleep last night. I feel wonderful. It won't last but damn it's amazing how much easier it is to parent in the morning when you've gotten a lot of sleep...

Debt, I hope it heals up fast for you, I'd be bored out of my mind in your situation. I'm moved, the old house still has some stuff in the yard but the inside is empty. And cleanish. I'll have to go back and scrub more but it's vacuumed and empty! The new place looks exactly how you'd expect......like a bomb went off. I spent 30 minutes looking for my pants this morning. Any pants.

I was going to make a smart ass comment about wandering around without pants on but decided that if you're unpacking, you're also probably going in and out of the new house still and it could be uncomfortable not having pants on.

Ok, I did have my jammie pants and the pants I'd been wearing while moving because the rest of them got lost in the confusion somewhere, but figured it'd be nice to wear CLEAN ones to work

Debt hope your eyes heal up soon.
Chocolate enjoy your new house and hopefully it take too long before it feels like home.
My house is in disaster mode at the moment. SIL unexpectedly brought me a Christmas tree last Saturday so we hurriedly moved the furniture into the middle of the living room to make way for the tree. The furniture is still there. The tree is more or less decorated but I haven't vacuumed yet or put the tree skirt out.
I am off work Friday thru Tuesday and the plan is to get the house spotless for Christmas. Then i will just do a light cleaning once again before Christmas.

Hope you've found your pants by now Chocolate. ;-)
Good luck with the house Sharon!
We got our tree last night but DH and DS3 are both out tonight so we'll decorate tomorrow or this weekend. I went to the out-of-town meeting today.
I didn't get to Shitepile or my last two work binders last weekend because of my eyes, but I'm putting all that off for now. I have one class tomorrow then I come home with 58 finals which I want to finish before Tuesday when I get 43 more. This is going to be a rough week. I'll worry about Shitepile and the last 2 binders after Christmas.
Marking Weeks 50-51 (stretch goal):
Fri: 58 exams (grammar) 58 exams (vocabulary) Sat: 21 essays Sun: 18 essays Mon: 19 essays

Beth that is a good point. I'll see how it goes, I won't force it. I've made a lot of efforts to read very little these past few days.
ETA: Beth I redid the schedule to do it over 4 days instead of 3. Thanks for pointing that out. I want to finish by Dec 19 since that's DS3's last day before Christmas vacation, but I have more time if I need it. Marks are due 5 Jan.
ETA: Beth, how is it going with your teeth? I had the molds for the last 2 crowns done on Wed (in the end he decided to do 2 rather than 3). I have an appt to get them put in on Wed, but I have to call first to make sure they've arrived. It will be my 28th appt since April!
