MOSCOW — Mikhail Kalashnikov, whose work as a weapons designer for the Soviet Union is immortalized in the name of the world's most popular firearm, has died at the age of 94.

My thought was I'd rather face my maker having cured polio rather than been responsible for engineering such an effective weapon of death. I think Oppenheimer wrestled with this.
Hell- Sarah Winchester went nuts and built a maze of a house over the repeater rifle and fear of ghosts.
Sorry- nothing to celebrate here.

Agreed, there is nothing to celebrate in the passing of a weapons design genius. This weapon with it's simplicity and longevity made long strides in putting the ability of self defense in the hands everyone, not just the wealthier denizens of this planet. It terrifies those who wish to enslave and control others. |
