I was reading reviews for Farenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. One woman posted in her comments the following:
“…Anyone reading this introduction should take the time to name the one book that he or she would most want to memorize and protect from any censors or ‘firemen.’ And not only name the book but give the reasons why they would wish to memorize it and why it would be a valuable asset to be recited and remembered in the future.”
I thought the notion would be good to contemplate during this winter season.
The book I came up with is The Holy Bible. I do not think I could memorize it.
Quit when you’ll be mediocre, when the returns aren’t worth the investment, when you no longer think you’ll enjoy the ends. Stick when the dip is the obstacle that creates scarcity, when you’re simply bridging the gap between beginner’s luck and mastery. The Dip, Seth Godin

Hmmm. Only one? Well, I know large swatches of Pride and Prejudice by heart... That has good morals and teaches that a rom com has ALWAYS followed the same script...
Maybe The Importance of being Earnest? ... It's short, so doable, dialogue so it's easy to 'do' and deliver... And it illustrates many of the delicious fallibilities of our human nature ...
