350,000 in the Toronto area have lost power because of the ice storm and it could be out for 3 days. How are our members doing? Virgil? Sugi? I know there are a few others.

Probably can't log on. I know friends up there and they were logging off to conserve battery on their phones since they don't have a car charger. They're all mad at my mom for posting pictures of 80+ degree whether while they're freezing up in Toronto. Hopefully everyone on the board is like them, fine but cold and without power.

I have an Aunt and Uncle that lost power. They have headed to Whitby to the other aunt and uncle's. It's not going to be pretty. That's a lot of people to be out of power for 3 days.

We've been told for a few days that an ice storm was coming. Everyone tends to keep canned foods etc on hand anyway. But our main prep is keeping our cars gassed up, our phones charged and having a network of folks that know they can stay with each other based on who's power goes out.

Jaguar is here - Virgil Showlion said a week or so ago he's going to be MIA for a while and only sporadically checking in (if at all) during the holidays - end of year.

Western Michigan lost power early Sunday morning. Some areas will be out until Thursday. That just sucks. DF had no power, poor kitties are cold. I'm toasty warm in sunny Florida!

Did you lose your power ? I seen Malls yesterday with no power and the Malls that did have power were into boxing day sales already of 50% off store wide. There's a lot of people having a cold Christmas this year.

Jaguar I'm up north, we are fine. My aunt and uncle in Scarborough are still out of power the tree in their yard fell so they could be powerless for a while. A cousin closer to downtown is still out of power as well. They are bunking in with different relatives but nothing is going according to plan for them. I was going to head down later this week but changed my mind.

Yeah Later a lot of people are in the dark this Christmas, it was on the news that over 300 Hydro One workers gave up their Christmas holidays to help with this mess. Scarborough and the 401 corridor is what got hit the worst.
I hope the best for everyone and that this mess gets solved soon.

I saw on our noon news here, that several workers from the northeastern US states have traveled up there to help get the lines repaired and back up & running again as early as possible. That's sure going to help take the pressure off of your City crews working so hard (especially this close to the holiday). Hopefully, most (if not all) of them will finally be able to spend the big day with their families.
