I used to kind of enjoy missionaries showing up at my door. I had a water cannon that I bought on Ebay, with a motion sensor. It was supposed to be used to keep cats out of your garden. Any time anyone knocked on my door, it was set off, with jets of water shooting at the door. I soaked at least 6 Mormom "elders", and 2 Seventh Day Adventists. Plus, my wife's kids finally got the message to call before comeing over unannounced....
If this guy from Duck Dynasty had shown up at my door blowing his duck call device, I would have called the police. I just got back from Las Vegas, and the Freemont Street Experience is full of people who look like him, holding cardboard signs. Apparantly, they are all vets.

Kinda like Christians speaking out against gays when they are not gay and it has nothing to do with them ETA : Do you see the difference? The actual people that have the gay sex/partnerships are up in arms over.... (Gay rights, gay marriage, whatever) Versus people that have no interst other than punishing someone whose lifestyle they disagree with...

Yet his supporters are putting pressure toon a network take him off suspension. It works both ways, as it should. Do you see the difference? The actual people that WATCh the show are up in arms over him possibly being let go. Versus people that have no interst other than punishing someone that disagrees with their lifestyle It amazes me how one sided some of you are. And I know a few folks who wstch the show and state the suspension (at least for now) ìs appropriate.

Really? I read most of the GQ article from their website and don't remember the author referencing any specific video. From what I recall of events Phil was suspended about a day before the video started circulating. I could have missed something though. From what I can find, the reason GQ did the article was because of the video that they had unearthed. I'm not anywhere close to finishing my research into this mess, though. Would of thought that would have been mentioned in the article.

You definitely don't strike me as the type to hang around with fans of duck dynasty. The only person I know that might watch it is my BiL. He watches all kinds of boring ass hunting and fishing shows and is not exactly known to be progressive in his thinking. He will be here for Christmas so I will ask him. Other than that, I can't think if anyone I know that would watch this show. After all of the hoopla, I'm going to watch a few episodes just to see what it is about.

You are stereotyping quite a bit in your analysis of the shows demographics, and viewer opinions...
Personally a lot of my homeschool friends are really religious and we are rural. Even among That demographic reactions are split. Some whole heartily support him. Others are posting he was crude and rude and not showing the love of Jesus, or doing his religion any favors with his words. Do not think at all this is a one opinion per demographic issue...

Is A&E = Duck Dynasty Network? .... You think that's the only show? Does A& E not have rights? LOL - I can't think of any other show they have. It seems like when DD hit it big, they became the Duck Dynasty network 24/7. (I know you can post their schedule and it will have all kinds of other stuff. It just isn't a network that I think of as being full of great programming.

The three major cities ìn TN are some what liberal/progressive. The suburbs are mostly conservative. But the state is primarily small town/rural. Most of my friends are on the conservative side. Some still believe Obama is Muslim and born in Kenya, North Korea, etc. Why start arguments and fights with friends.

I can see not liking his views, but I just went back read the entire article and I am honestly not seeing anything rude or crude. This wasn't a gay hate piece. He didn't single out gays. He listed a bunch of sinners ( in his opinion). I don't agree with what he said (I am NOT anti-gay) but I do not believe he should be fired for his views. This was not a hate-filled rant that some people are making it out to be. I also read that this is the highest rates show in cable history. Their season finale had more viewers than American idol (or one of those popular shoes that I don't watch...I might be confusing the names). They are a huge money maker and the executives at A&E would be morons to cave to pressure to fire him from purely a financial point.

I don't know how to post links, but I just read an article from the Huffington Post saying Phil Robertson will be in the new episodes of Duck Dynasty starting January 15. The article also states A & E will air a Duck Dynasty marathon on 12/22/13. I don't know how reputable the Hoff Post is, but the article was posted yesterday.

Another example of you can say whatever you want, but your employer doesn't have to support you or what you say. www.cnn.com/2013/12/22/world/sacco-offensive-tweet/index.html?eref=rss_mostpopular ne Sacco, a former PR executive who sparked a firestorm of controversy on Twitter, apologized Sunday for her "needless and careless tweet" about AIDS in Africa. In a written statement. Sacco apologized "for being insensitive to this crisis -- which does not discriminate by race, gender or sexual orientation, but which terrifies us all uniformly -- and to the millions of people living with the virus, I am ashamed." She added that she is a native of South Africa and was upset that she had hurt so many people there. "I am very sorry for the pain I caused," she wrote. Media company IAC "parted ways" Saturday with Sacco after the tweet, which read: "Going to Africa. Hope I don't get AIDS. Just kidding. I'm white!" "The offensive comment does not reflect the views and values of IAC. We take this issue very seriously, and we have parted ways with the employee in question," an IAC spokesman said in a statement. "There is no excuse for the hateful statements that have been made and we condemn them unequivocally," he said. "We hope, however, that time and action, and the forgiving human spirit, will not result in the wholesale condemnation of an individual who we have otherwise known to be a decent person at core."

This is why some of us are sick of this bullshit...... Danny LeClair and Aubrey Loots have always done things with panache, since the first time they met on a dance floor fogged up with dry ice.
“I couldn’t see my hand in front of my face,” Leclair, 45, recalled. Loots laughed: “By the time the smoke parted, we were facing each other.”
When the opportunity came to recognize their 12-year-relationship in front of millions of people, the two naturally went for it. On New Year’s Day, Leclair and Loots will get married atop a 15-foot-high, cake-shaped float in the 125th Tournament of Roses Parade.
A live gay wedding is a departure for the Pasadena parade, which is best known for ornate floats, the blare of marching bands and the teenage Rose Queen and her Royal Court. But Larry Wilson, whose grandfather and uncle were presidents of the Tournament of Roses, said it demonstrates how mainstream gay marriage has become. - See more at: www.aidshealth.org/archives/17586#sthash.xa6g32T7.dpufMaybe we're just getting tired of having the gay community rubbing their genitals in our faces. And maybe gays have had enough of being discriminated against and marginalized all these padt years. One does not push back without first having been pushed. By the way-move your face (or just close your eyes). Forgive my ignorance, but Aubrey is a man's name? Always thought it was a female name. Did he change it legally, or was he given that name at birth by his parents, or did he legally change it?

I don't think the impact in the children would sway Phil's opinion one way or the other. My two cousins were raised in a lesbian household (my aunt was married before she turned lesbian). I have to say that school was traumatic for them. They lived in a small country town and kids were awful. Luckily, at some point my male cousin shot up to 6'4" so the bullying stopped on e he beat the shit out if some kids. I can't speak to their outcomes versus my other cousins. While they were picked on at school, they had a very loving home environment while I and another set if cousins were raised by alcoholics. We all pretty much turned out the same..varying degrees of success but none dependent on the government

... I'd imagine many heterosexual couples would accept if offered something like this. I don't know if it's ever happened before. Do you? During the 2013 parade, a couple from Virginia -- Nicole and Gerald -- were married aboard Farmers Insurance's "The Love Float," in what Farmer's officials said was the first wedding to be performed during the Rose Parade. www.10news.com/lifestyle/rose-parade-to-include-first-same-sex-union-aboard-a-float-121713 Thanks, billis. I thought I remembered something about a wedding, but wasn't sure.

What difference does his name make? Are we now going to classy someone as gay because you've never met a man with their name before?

I haven't experienced having the gay community rubbing their genitals in my face.Just watch the Tournament of Roses parade then and enjoy. I will, and I won't have anyone, gay or otherwise, rubbing their genitals in my face, frank.

"Of French origin, Aubrey results from the phonetical mutation of Alberic, which is a Germanic given name, meaning "Fair Ruler of the Little People", or "King of the Elves".[1] The name Alberich is the German variant. The Anglo-Saxons used before the Norman conquest the corresponding variant Ælf-rīc (see Ælfric). A female form is recorded as Aubrée and does not share the same etymology. It is derived from the Germanic Albereda or Alberada. It can be found in certain genealogies of the noble Norman families (See f. e. Aubrey of Buonalbergo). The name is traditionally male, but is more commonly used as a feminine name in the United States. It was the 41st most popular name given to girls born in the United States in 2009.[2] It was last ranked among the top 1,000 most common names for boys in the United States in 2002. It was the 479th most common name for all males in the United States in the 1990 census.[3]" Wikipedia
