Finally some success. DH finally got signed up and mailed the check for the premium. We are having to pay for two insurances until he's sure everything is a go with the new insurer. The ACA is going to reduce his health insurance cost by $300. My Medicare, Part D and supplement cost more than his does.

I have a friend who reported on her Facebook page she's now paying $79 less per month. A second person in the thread she was paying "a lot less" due to her pre-existing conditions. A third person groused that his family coverage went up $350 ... but didn't discuss coverages and his other comments led me to believe that his prior plan was quite "bare bones." Just anecdotes, of course ... but it does seem like a positive thing for a number of people.

My mom lucks out. She gets so much more coverage for a whole lot less because she gets a heafty subsidy. So we picked a Gold plan for her until she's old enough for medicare.
My husbands plan got completely cancelled though... Lucky for us, his new job offers health insurance so he can get a plan through them instead that's a high deductible one because my work only offers really expensive "no cost to you plans" that are $570 per person per month...
