I'm still keeing my mags though. I am not one of those who wishes to take away folks' guns. I just ask for responsible gun ownership and usage of everyone. Lock them up and away from children who do not know any better. I can get behind that, as long as you're good with common sense measures and not demanding fool proof ones for every possible eventuality.

Excuse the expression, but sometimes 'shit happens' as ìn real accidents. I simply hope for 100% common sense measures. It seems at times though everyone, on both sides, have lost their common sense.

I would swear I posted "It reads to me..." and not that they were actually ambushed. Oh yea...I did post "It reads to me...". Thst is an opinion of what I have read if you cannot figure it out. I don't have to figure it out. I paid attention to the details as presented and did not "read anything" into them. The man helped his wife into the car, then walked toward the rear of the car and around the back of the car where he was confronted by at least two of the four. According to reports, a scuffle ensued and the man was shot in the head. I believe it is reasonable to believe that the several seconds from the time he closed the door for his wife to the point at which he was shot could have afforded him the time to pull a weapon if he had one. The fact that there was a scuffle noted indicates that he wasn't totally surprised or ambushed. The fact that there were four assholes with at least one armed with a gun, and probably more involved in this bolsters the case for more ammo is better.

That's why you use that magazine with full auto. Or go with a belt fed.

Yeah, I'm sure if he had a Glock with a 33 round mag, he would have been able to pull that unwieldy junk and untangle it from his pants, aim said unwieldy junk and saved the day. Those things serve no legitimate purpose, just admit it.

You would think an active shooter being slowed down is a good thing.

Oh come on- it slows down the use of a gun for self-defense- and pretty much makes conceal carry impossible. They do work really well for firing into crowded movie theaters or classrooms, however. Pretty much the only place they seem to turn up on a regular basis.
AZ shooter got taken down during a reload. What else is there to say?

They do? "The semi-automatic rifle used in the Colorado theater killings jammed during the rampage, apparently because of a problem with the 100-shot magazine feeding it, a law enforcement source with direct knowledge of the investigation said Sunday. The military-style AR-15 had a separately purchased drum magazine, which can have trouble feeding bullets into the firing chamber if the gun is fired rapidly, the source told CNN. "These after-market extended magazines have a tendency to jam," the source said." linkWhat else is there to say, maybe that good guys with guns do stop bad guys with guns: "An Arapahoe County sheriff’s deputy who was working as a school resource officer ran from the cafeteria to the sound of the shots in the library, accompanied by a school security officer and two administrators. According to Arapahoe County Sheriff Grayson Robinson, “The deputy was yelling for people to get down and identified himself as a county deputy sheriff. We know for a fact that the shooter knew that the deputy was in the immediate area and, while the deputy was containing the shooter, the shooter took his own life.” " link

Yes- it jammed after firing 45 shots- still call that high capacity carnage. I'd say it worked quite well- much better than a ten rounder. So maybe instead of getting rid of these things we should just pray for jams during the next incident.
