Cayman

Next stop, after Christmas, is cayman island. Anyone been there? We are on 7 mile beach and have been given the heads up that everything is very expensive there but what to do/see that's cool? DF is chicken about the stingrays but I'm thinking I will do it anyway. We don't scuba. I snorkel, he doesn't. We love art, churches, history, museums.

My family stays at a house owned by people my parents know on rum point, so unfortunately that's the other side of the island.

The stingrays were terrifying at first (and I didn't think I'd be scared!) but not so bad once you got used to them. The snorkeling was awesome!!

We usually ate in and groceries are way more expensive than you'd expect, but that's what my family did. There were 7 of us so it was probably cheaper than a restaurant. We just hung out on our beach most of the time (backyard). These were the tourist things I did:
Stingray city: fun but I liked the snorkeling afterwards better.
Georgetown: meh
Turtle farm: you can't swim with the turtles just hold baby ones and the facilities are not what you'd hope for.
Sunset cruise: nice but I probably wouldn't do it again.
Botanical gardens: probably my favorite part. They have giant iguanas (blue iguanas) running around.

All of this you may need a car for.

Cayman was amazing. We stayed on SMB but I would have zero issue staying on the other side now as long as DF drives!!! I now see why people are repeat visitors. I'm hoping that's where my march trip comes up as!!! I'd go again in a NYM. My next door neighbors are going and I told them I'd pay the bag overweight fee just please let me in the bag!!
