That's just stupid. The same word can not have opposite meanings. Who the hell thinks the solution is to change the meaning of the word? May I present the word "wicked?" Boston style. It is in no way a bad thing. As in: wicked awesome!

This thread makes me sad. Remember when language was beautiful, poetic even? Take Malarky's name, for instance. Malarky. Hot air. Hogwash. Nonsense. Foolishness. Garbage. Nowadays, we condense all of those wonderful, generational, regional synonyms into one vulgar epithet: "shit". As in, "Don't be shooting that shit." "She was giving me some shit about how I talk like an idjit." "His promises to clean up his language are pure shit."

Whatchoo talkin' bout?
People who use "done" instead of "did" should be sentenced to another year in 1st grade. "Know what I done today?"

How about "tooked" and "tooken" ? These fine verbs can be used as " He tooked the bus to work " and " My house was tooken by the bank."

Also, plase don't " bottom-line " anything for me, or I will be forced to put you on the bottom of the ocean to think about your misdeed. " Bottom-line " is not a verb.

That's just stupid. The same word can not have opposite meanings. Who the hell thinks the solution is to change the meaning of the word? Actually, there are literally dozens of words in the English language that have self-contradictory meanings. They're called "contronyms", among other things. A list of 75 of them can be found here. Learnding is fun.

"Onboarding". Seriously? I am training for a new job. I am NOT boarding anything and NOTHING is boarding me.

Why is something that is wonderful said to be "sick"?
Let's add another word to the post regarding the word done....."I seen" NO you did NOT seen, you saw!!!! I saw it yesterday, not I seen it yesterday.
Didn't anyone ever take an English class in grade school?

I find myself correcting my younger daughter on "drawed", as in "I drawed a picture today". But she is 5, so there's time.
On the bright side, if you ask my older daughter how she is doing, she will tell you that she is doing well. She won't say she is doing good, because Superman does good.
That's right, I'm raising little grammar nerds.

My late FIL always said " it blowed up". Of course, he would be 100 years old now and only went to the 9th grade. My grandmother who would now be 125 used the word "yourn" in place of your(s).

Thanks for the laughs this morning! The only thing bad about this thread is watching what I type now so I don't make the list!

BG, you are "slow". "Sick" has been replaced with "nasty" as in "that team has nasty stick skills". (I needed a translation for that from my very own child. )
