Just wanted to say a special thanks to any member of this board the served in WWII. I know the numbers are dwindling quickly as i have attended a few funerals for vets of this era over the last year.

My Dad joined up, as many young men did, immediately after Pearl Harbor was bombed. He even saw Pearl during his service in the Navy. Blessings to all of those who protect & serve!

There aren't any WWII vets on this board that i know of. There aren't that many left unfortunately. Any WWII vet would be, at a minimum, well into his 80's.

I don't know if ModE served, or not. He's the only one here I know of who might have. To those who have served, are serving, and will serve - you're not forgotten.

I agree, gambler. My Dad wouldn't even recognize America today. And having served during WWII, he'd be furious that we've got Nazis marching on American soil.

I'm Remembering the Day. Not because I was there, but because my Dad was one of those farm kids who enlisted after the attack. A lot of brave young people did whatever it took to win the war. (Mom ended up working in a factory that supported the war effort.)

I took that moment early this morning.
I've been to the Arizona twice already.

I've been to the Arizona several times, and each time I feel the souls of the service men.
I come from a military family, and fortunately none of them paid the ultimate price in service. All remembered their service time as proud bearers of the flag.
God bless all of them
