I had to post this in the Smart Spending section, to honor Clara, who passed on November 29th, 2013. She was 98 years old.
At 91, she made her first video with her grandson Christopher, and I have her DVD and cookbook, which I refer to often and I make dishes out of her cookbook that sits on my nightstand.
She showed what the meaning of frugality and making do really is, and her memory will forever remain warmly in my heart.

I don't watch television, so I'm not familiar with this woman's contributions. I looked her up through Google and have ordered her cookbook. I think mother will enjoy it, as will I.
I hope her end came peacefully. RIP.

I hadn't heard of Clara before either. But after doing a Google search, I found a few videos of her "down-home" old-fashioned cooking episodes.

That's too bad. I first heard of her a few years ago when I saw this youtube video (I have no idea how I found it). I asked my son if he wanted to try it and he said he did. It was actually pretty good  |
