Our ads shows at Vons, if you buy $30.00 you can get a Butterball Turkey for $15.00.
I couldn't find $30.00 of items to go along with this sale, so I skipped going. I can't even walk in to Albertsons for Holiday sales. Too expensive.
I then went to Wal Mart and found the same turkey for $15.00, and didn't have to spend the additional $30.00, and got my turkey to cook in between Holidays.
What's the best Holiday food sale you've found so far?

Turkeys are .50/lb at shoprite this week and free if you spent $400 between a set of dates that I didn't pay attention to! I never spend enough to get the free turkey or ham because I feed 2 adults on $200 per month max -- which includes all household items too.
My Shoprite has boneless skinless chicken breast on black Friday for .99/lb which I will go buy or get a raincheck for, using my card and DH's grandfather's card. I'll pick up a .50/lb turkey while I'm there.

I got my complementary turkey from shoprite just this afternoon... was "forced" to stock up on a few items, and purchase a few extra non-perishables to qualify. Be advised... The "$.50 per lb." deal is what you pay for a "fresh" (not frozen) turkey... IF you spent $400 there in the last 5 weeks. Be sure to read the fine print on the offer VERY carefully... there are a number of conditions and exclusions to be apprised of; my "Free" turkey would have cost $30.00, so, ultimately, it represents an approx. seven-and-a-half percent savings over five week period.

The past two years, my ShopRite would let you get a $15 ShopRite gift card in place of the free turkey or other items they offered. You had to ask at the service desk. This year they said no. I don't like the items offered, so I asked does SR donate the unused free turkeys...again, no. Double BOO for ShopRite.

Ya'll are making me think I need to go to Walmart to see what kind of sale items they have. We usually get there early morning when some of the beef goes on sale.....Hmm, but small turkey might be nice.
Oh, nevermind, we're getting close to having the window treatments finished for the new house, guess that's how I'll spend the rest of the day. We've already been out for lunch.

If you spent $20, you could get a self-basting turkey for 20 cents a lb. At that rate, you could have bought a 75 lb turkey.

The best deal in my little town was $0.59 lb. turkey with additional $25 purchase at Winn Dixie.
But I still HAD 2 turkey breasts in the freezer from last summer when WD had them on sale for $0.99 lb....no additional purchase. There is only one left now & I'll probably do it around Easter.

I was at shoprite this afternoon... turkeys were marked down @ 25% off. I'll go back tomorrow and get one for 50% off. At that price they are forcing me to do it.

They don't mark those down in my area. The fresh ones are ordered every 3 days and the frozen just stay in the freezer until after Christmas. Then they just cut back on their orders. If those are fresh turkeys...I'd be real leary of one that has been refrigerated since Thanksgiving.

If you have an Aldi nearby and still need baking supplies this might be the week. Sugar & flour are the lowest price I have seen this year in metro Chicago.
NOTE: Aldi ads are frequently regional. I have seen BIG differences for them on the postings of some out of state bloggers.
