www.nydailynews.com/news/national/country-singer-shot-dead-nashville-bar-article-1.1528106Local word is he was shot twice in the back of the head. Wayne Mills, 44, was shot by Pit and Barrel bar owner Chris Ferrell, police said. Ferrell, 44, told police he shot Mills in self-defense following an argument over Mills smoking in the bar. Mills later died at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. My guess is this guy is going down for murder- but we have a situation with no witnesses- and still cannot believe they didn't arrest this guy- word has it he has connections. Cigarette v gun- 'he was going to burn me officer' Not a major topic I know, but WTF do you not arrest someone that shot someone to death?

I don't know if it is done, but drug and alcohol testing should take place with both parties (person claiming self-defense and the deceased) as soon as police arrive on the scene. It should be the law across the country. See if either drugs or alcohol influenced the actions of either party.
Of course it may not detect drugs or alcohol if the police are not called to the scene until hours after the incident has occured.

How sad. These deaths by gunshot are getting more prevalent every day. I saw a headline today of a women who shot and killed a girl holding a baby thinking it was someone else. It seems like there are stories like this one every day and not all get national attention. On my local news it's almost a daily story also.
One thing about this thread's title. Bar Rescue was not yanked. It was due to begin televising at the bar the next day and has postponed those plans for now, according to the link provided.

The show was yanked during prime time but they aired the episode later that night by mistake.

Expect to see a pretty heavy saturation of these types of gun stories on the liberal news channels and no coverage of people legally defending themselves against criminals with guns. The easy presidential signature on a new gun control law is a limited time engagement, as Obama's second term is winding down.

I do not rely on MSNBC or Fox for news - both have agendas, MSNBC liberal, Fox conservative and neither are always factual. When I speak of local news, that's exactly what I mean - news stories in my local newspaper that I have been reading for nearly 50 years. They recently won an Associated Press award for excellent news coverage by a regional newspaper. So far I have not read one report of someone shooting someone in defense of their home. I have read numerous stories of people being shot by mistake. It is only within the past few years that I began reading any local stories about the use of guns in any capacity other that recreational or hunting. The only other ones were always datelined either Rochester or Syracuse, NY. The county I live in has only about 40,000 population - it's mainly agricultural in nature, The region's largest cpopulation center is a small city of about 24,000 yet several times a week there is some kind of shooting incident. Having lived here since the early 1970s, I KNOW that this is a recent phenomenon.
