Just saw the new Superman movie

and god I thought it sucked......how did so many people watch it and I heard it got good reviews (I hope I'm wrong on that last part)

sure it was flashy, special effects and all that......but the story sucked and totally unbelievable even when you consider its a movie.......

I'm still trying to figure out why Hollywood is so enamored with Superman.  He's one of the most boring one dimensional comic book heroes ever put on paper.  The newer attempts have tried to angst him up a bit, and make him more conflicted about the whole thing, but he's still a really flat character.

 Seriously, if you're after a plausible plotline, why go to Super-Hero films at all?

It was just TERRIBLE

So the US Gov / UN has no other plan other than to give up Superman?  Granted any plan would have failed, but at least some kind of plan

ok, there are 6 or 7 dudes just as strong as superman and instead of all going after him at once, they only go after him onesie or two-sie at a time......

then they deploy their "world engine", and don't put anything or anyone else there to protect it.........

and then supes dad (Kevin Costner) goes back to save the dog instead of letting his super son go do it......yeah I know dad was trying to "hide" super kids powers, but he could have done it low key......and worst case, you let the dog die.......<<puts on flame retardant suit>>.....I know the dog is part of family, yadda yadda, but I'm sorry if the choice is me or the dog, its gonna be the dog..........

My brother has an obsession with Superman and bigged up the movie to be amazing, it was good but not as good others had made it out to be.
