Does "Santa" start assembling the gifts? The wrapped ones are all ready to go and just need to be moved to under the tree. Luckily, this years "some assembly required" does not need power tools. Still - Momma and Daddy are ready to imbibe and want to awaken with all the apendages we have now. Oh well - if I don't post next year (or only post with polkmjnhui's - aka right hand of the keyboard) y'all will know what happened. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND TO ALL A SAFE NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!

My parents took the easy route and Santa only left one gift--and it fit in the stocking. I've carried that one on. Good luck!!

My parents always told me that Santa never delivered assembled gifts ~ only unassembled ones. (grin)

How long after the kiddos go to bed? (before putting stuff together)? Hard question. When mine were little we would wait until midnight & then get going. As time went on they got older & stayed up later & it SUCKED. The last year I remember doing it I went to bed at 04:30 am & they woke up at 05:15. Daddy's life (that day) wasn't good. After that "Santa" gave presents for dad to put together on Christmas morning (while drinking coffee).

good times...I was the one who'd stay up & help my XBIL put everything together for sis' oldest kids...while sis snored on the sofa since I never had any kids, and never will, I'm glad to have that experience

Not having any kids of your own doesn't mean not spending time with them! I've spent my whole life taking my friends and neighbors kids to do all kinds of stuff! Biking, skating, fishing, etc. Now I volunteer at a roller rink and find it very rewarding to help the kids there have a good time.
