Well I don't think I ever would use charity but that is easy to say when you don't need it. I also don't see that chances are good that I will since I have many many measures to prevent such things in place.

I think the sentiment behind this statement is admirable (more people SHOULD feel like resorting to charity is immoral), but I also think that kids need their parents more than they need to not ever take welfare handouts. It's not worth getting yourself arrested and sent to federal prison just to avoid welfare, because then your kids are going to be raised in foster care - where, in all likelihood, they will end up on welfare anyhow.
Taking charity would be awfully hard, but at the end of the day if I have kids to feed, then my kids are getting fed. End of discussion. It doesn't matter how-- their needs are bigger than my pride.
