Well, maybe there will be more Nancy Grace specials on. She has the best show on CNN. Isn't she on HLN? CNN has really lost their audience share when they moved to the far left in their reporting.....More and more, people are turning to Fox to get accurate news reporting....Most of the A list anchors have left CNN for better jobs

Can't blame them- if they want to compete with Fox they sure as shit can't do it reporting the news.

if they want to compete with Fox CNN could increase their viewership simply by getting rid of Andersen Cooper.....And Piers Morgan.

this is my favourite line from the above: Other than "The Lead with Jake Tapper" and programming outside of the news arena (Anthony Bourdain, "Blackfish, etc.), CNN is a dying network loaded with unappealing anchors who are abysmal at delivering in-depth, objective news coverage. i can't think of a single commercial cable news network that delivers the coverage that Breitbart (the reigning king of biased "reporting", which is an additional hilarity) is saying that CNN doesn't deliver.

Do you remember their presidential election coverage. It took them 24 hours to admit that they were wrong and that Obama had won. They spout the conservative line just like MSNBC does the progressive. It is more and more difficult to get the real news today without it being biased by one side or the other. I have found that the network news (ABC, NBC, CBS and PBS) have the most factual news. CNN comes next. After that, it's all propaganda by one side or the other.

Well, maybe there will be more Nancy Grace specials on. She has the best show on CNN. Is that your comedic input for the day? She isn't even on CNN to start with, and she's a loud-mouthed blow-hard putting her own spin and opinion on everything. If anyone disagrees with her slant in her shows, she cuts them off mid-sentence because only her opinion matters to her.
She wasn't even credible as a prosecutor which is why she was also the laughing stock of the legal profession. Her show is strictly sensationalism and a waste of airspace.

i never made any claims about those that watched no media. i am ONLY interested in those that do. but i will confess that i didn't pay that much attention to the 2012 study, since it merely confirmed the PIPA study. edit: not to toot my own horn, but i am betting i have spent a lot more time studying this issue than PolitiFact. edit2: Politifact's beef with Stewart is that he said "consistently". i can see why that is a problem. see my revised phrasing above, and see if it passes muster**

Not that it matters but freaking Daily Show fans put Fox fans to shame when it came to facts and the real world. Other poster was correct- the Fox fans are the most uninformed. If you can't win with the truth- try bullshit.

Oh yes, the same old liberal tag lines. Just claim to be "smarter" than conservatives, blah, blah. Really it is time to get a new play for your playbook.

After 50 years of news edited with a liberal slant. ABC, CBS, and NBC would like to be percieved as middle of the road in their political coverage, they're not.

that is not what i said. what i said was IF they chose FOX for accuracy, they are stupid. FOX is not accurate. but if you pushed me on that, i would say that neither is any other cable network. if people are looking for accuracy @ FOX (or any other cable news network), they are wasting their time. that is pretty stupid in my book.
to summarize, people enjoy passive media for a lot of reasons, but objectivity/accuracy is not generally one of them.
Really it is time to get a new play for your playbook. we will when you conservatives stop playing the bullshit bias card.

I would have to differ on the "no liberal editing", but would be in agreement on the rest. Is it obsessive to bring it up? I was using "editing" as the decision making process of what coverage to carry and present on the network news.

Yes, as in showing the liberal democrat position in a positive presentation style while simply leaving out or showing the conservative republican position in a negative presentation. Hence "liberal editing".

To use one of your favorite expressions, Shooby: blah, blah, blah. That "article" you posted is nothing but irrelevant words from an irrelevant and thoroughly biased source.

oh, do you mean "omission bias"? Yes, well, i agree that there is absolutely omission bias. it is probably the most verifiable fact in the social sciences. but it is not political. it is "cultural" and "economic".

well, i agree that there is absolutely omission bias. it is probably the most verifiable fact in the social sciences. but it is not political. it is "cultural" and "economic". When Bush 2 was potus and started the Afghanistan war, the network evening news ran the daily body count of soldiers killed (Iraq too). When our current potus took office the daily body count was discontinued even though the wars carried on. When the G-8 meetings took place that Bush 2 attended the network news would show a few seconds of him walking in and then cut to the protesters that are always present at those meetings. When Obama was covered for the same meetings he was shown laughing, shaking hands, surrounded by smiling happy people. Not one second of protester footage is shown. All US presidents that attend these summits run the usual gamut of meetings allies and avoiding the protesters. How they are presented to the public by the network news sways their political image. That is what I view as political bias. Being the only conservative game in town major media wise, Fox is guilty of the same thing, but in the other direction.
