Red Sox v. St. Louis Cardinals
Love my Sox, and clearly I want them to win, but the Cards are no slouches, they didn't get here by accident. Last night is not the the way the Cards usually play...

I know it's not typical, but damn if they didn't do a bangup impression of the Bad News Bears! and to hear the sour grapes today about whatever Lester had in his glove? um.....a) it was rosin, and b) it didn't have anything to do with the Cardinals not being able to catch the damn ball. sorry, I'm having a bad day. here's hoping for a Sox win in game 2 to lift my spirits

LET'S GO SOX!!!! I'm so pumped and so scared lol. But.... if this goes to game 7, game 7 will be played on Halloween, which is not going to equal a good time over here in Salem regardless of which way it goes. I am hoping they can get it in 5 or 6 though!! We totally got this.

Our house is full of Yankee fans so we gotta go with anyone but the Red Sox... Go Cardinals! Malarky drops MM from the list...

I don't really care about baseball, but I LOVED all the Red Sox winnings this year bc every time they did, my kids ate for free at the local restaurant.
Hope the same thing happens next year

Imma just leave this here.... linkI bust out laughing reading the frustration from the other side. we really do have an embarrassment of riches here, especially when you realize that the last Patriots win within this decade is the oldest drought of our city's major sports teams.....and is even longer than the MLS team that shares the same stadium. game on, Boston.

Malarky, cael, cawiau, and anyone else in the area, I'd love to welcome y'all to my house Sunday night for Game 4. I've got a hockey game in the afternoon, but it's nearby and well clear of the 815 start.

Thanks chive, I'd love to but I'm at a friend's party most of Sunday in Malden. I'll let you know if anything changes because DH is working that night and what fun is it to watch a WS game alone?! So bummed about last night. DH was bitching at the TV the whole game, "why'd they take Lackey out?!?!" "Why aren't they putting the Japanese guys in !" "if anyone would godamn hit we might get back in this!" ugh. At least it's only game 2. Still confident!!!

My husband likes the Yankees, Bears, Avalanche and he used to like the Knicks when he watched basketball. I don't like any of the California teams except the 49ers... HATE HATE HATE Raiders and Dodgers... boo! OMG, I think I'm gonna have the big one over those words And guess I should add that I am an A's fan so I wish a pox on both teams in the WS!!!! But I am watching the games. Oh, and I'm not from CA either

i live near the O's and we go to their games my DW is a big fan of theirs (and Cal has always been her fav player) sorry for the confusion i personally root for Cards in NL, and red sox in AL but seeing that the O's and Sox are in same division, i dont make a big fuss over the sox (DW wouldnt approve )

no, not a typical Sox fan. bandwagon fans are "pink hat" fans - the ones that don't have a clue what they are talking about, and snap up all the good seats. ugh.

nah, yesterday was fun until that damn play. stoopid rule not really sure what Middlebrooks was supposed to do to not be in the runner's way, but whatever. moving on, we'll just win one tonight and call it good. and yes, we all need to do a MA meetup soon! and more fun after you left us - remember the quiet guy in the striped shirt? he was on our side of the table at dinner. anyway, we got to the train to head back to Colleen's place and he mouthed off to the conductor about something (I had already gotten onboard...) and got himself carried away from the train by the T police that had just gotten off to patrol the station. Colleen jumped onboard so I wouldn't be by myself, and ended up calling her BIL to do a run back to the station to go pick up the guy and his wife. guess someone was a little buzzed! oh, and I have managed to get almost all of the ketchup off my purse. for the record, a dish soap and seltzer scrub followed by a seltzer rinse, seems to be doing the trick. there's a couple places that it's gotten into the stitching, which really freakin sucks. but I'll get it all. jeans and jacket seem to be okay after a run through the washer. did we have kids at the table right behind us or something? what I'm thinking is that's how it got on my jacket, and I didn't notice b/c the jacket's black. I figure I transferred it to my purse/jeans after I put the jacket on. ugh. I just can't figure out any other way that that much of it ended up all over my jacket, except when it was draped over my chair.

Omg really? Hahaha did he get arrested? I'll have to check the police logs tomorrow lol wow. I have no idea where that ketchup would've come from, so gross. Like I said, for the time they were taking to seat people the freaking tables and chairs should've been clean! How you feeling this morning? We definitely have to do that again sometime and get other MA peeps involved! fingers crossed for a better game tonight...

feeling? fine. tired though. I crashed once I sat down to watch the game, so I ended up staying over. no arrests, either. I don't think the T police have that authority. they just weren't going to let him on any train after whatever he said. lol.... how are you feeling? it sounded like you had more to drink yesterday than you'd had in awhile too. so um, yeah.....Malarky, Carl, GRG, Jake, and anyone else that hasn't owned up to living in MA yet. let's get on this

Me? I was fine lol, long as those beers weren't fuzzy navels I have no problems with them! Stupid Sox sending me on such a roller coaster!!! I was so depressed after Saturday, then cautiously optimistic last night after Gomes, and I know they won, but they need to start hitting better. Like, yesterday. I feel like the Cards have good pitching, but it isn't such spectacular pitching as to justify our lack of hitting. I mean, bases were loaded last night with NO OUTS at one point and we only scored one run that inning... I know it happens but I'm so nerved up over this. That was a pretty awesome win last night though! I'd fallen asleep and heard DH say something and heard a commotion on tv, lol. Let's win it at home this time!!!!

it will be interesting to see if Ross or Salty starts tomorrow night.....Ross has started all three of the wins this series, Salty's been in for the losses. don't know if it has anything to do with it, but us Boston fans are a superstitious bunch. there might be PR issues for Farrell if something doesn't go right with whatever he decides.
and how jealous am I - if it goes to 7, my sis and BIL will be at the game.

All of what Dem and Cael said.
Can we please have a game that isn't some sort of nailbiter?
Throwing a wrench in the works...is tomorrow really a good day for the president to be peddling healthcare in Boston?
