Hey-it always amazed me that white supremacist Byron De La Beckwith got a pass, twice, from two Mississippi juries consisting of only white men for the murder of Medgar Evers. It took 31 years to finally convict the bastard. And he was only convicted in 1994 because he bragged to others in later years of killing Evers.
The one thing worse than someone getting away with a crime because they are rich is getting away with it because the jury is racist. Too bad both situations still occur in our system. Shit hapens EVT. No one said life is fair. |

Saw a special on HBO where they had exhumed Evers and the body was in such good shape his son was allowed to see him. Was part of the case I think.
In the not fair category one of Grisham's non-fiction books shows what happens to poor people in the system and how they can end up on death row- The Innocent man- another victim of po-dunk police and prosecutors. That's the norm- relatively recent example is the West-Memphis three case- sure you know about those guys. When it happened I lived in Memphis and my mom was ready to have them disemboweled on the courthouse steps.

Nah... the WORST thing is when an innocent person is charged with a crime and convicted of something they did not do. That's just short of murdering them, from my point of view. |

I am still undecided whether those three guys are ìnnocent or guilty. |

OK then- are you at least convinced that the state did not come close to proving anything, that they failed to pursue anything else once they decided who did it, and completely turned the thing into a circus with the satanic cult bullshit?
The last doc film on it is pointing the finger quite heavily at one person- have you seen any of them? The Paradise Lost series?
Seems to me they threw some long hairs under the bus because that PD had a hard on for them- and it shows by their actions. I grew up in this world- heavy metal, long hair, etc. I heard incredible bullshit like I must worship the devil because my Rush album had a pentagram on it, I heard one of my teachers tell me that KISS stood for kids in satan's service, and don't even get me started on the crap I heard for liking Slayer. Same story- Iron Maiden, Ozzy and Black Sabbath, Judas Priest. And no problems blaming them for suicides either.
Just something to point the finger at, like violent video games or rap music, violent movies or any other convenient target. I know metalheads- and for the most part they are just regular kids that found a group to join like any other kids. Sad. Always some group out there for society to blame.
