Marks appeared on the FOX series in its third season. He was the runner-up to winner Christine Ha. Marks has reportedly been found dead of an apparent suicide in Chicago, Illinois.

In 2010, New Jersey restaurateur Joseph Cerniglia, who was featured on Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares, was found dead after jumping off the George Washington Bridge at 43 years old.

Three years prior, Hell's Kitchen star Rachel Brown shot herself in her family's Dallas home at 41 years old in 2007.

His mental illness had nothing to do with the show or Ramsay - so why are you calling him a killer in the thread title?

It's very evident that Josh Marks was sick - he even stated himself that he suffered mental illness in the PSA video he made as well as to police - he'd also attempted to assault police officers in the past - but you can't put the cause of his death/suicide on Ramsay's shoulders.

second the connection is 3 (THREE) people that were on Ramsay show committed suicide - in case you missed reading the original post (1) Joseph Cerniglia, (2) Rachel Brown AND (3) Josh Marks
Marks also stated in his ramblings - though crazy - mentioned Ramsey

so if you make a product - and people died from that product - it gets pulled from the shelves.

Zaire, this isn't exactly the way it is, I'm afraid.  Yes, the media makes eye-catching titles; however, they're usually very careful not to involve themselves in libel while doing so.  The three people who died committed suicide.  They did not die because of Mr. Ramsay.  They died at their own hands.  Unless someone can prove Mr. Ramsay was personally at fault for their deaths, to say he "killed" them is, indeed, libel/slander.  Your title was an accusation that is unproven and not to be used.

Nobody really knows why someone commits suicide.  I think it is wrong to blame anyone.  Ultimately everyone is responsible for their own choices.

I'm not sure you can say committing suicide due to severe mental illness is a "choice." And if you read some of the articles about how Marks was treated in the months leading up to his suicide, I think you can definitely say that American society failed him. Not only was he sent to jail instead of getting proper treatment after a suicide attempt, but he had easy access to firearms despite being mentally ill. But last summer Marks suffered "a mental break" that led to his arrest on July 29, his lawyer said. Marks told police he had been possessed by "MasterChef" judge Gordon Ramsay, who turned him into God, the Chicago Tribune reported.

"What people don't know is that on the night Josh was arrested in July, he had just shot himself and had called police for help from the emergency phone," his mother said. "He wasn't himself, he was in a manic state, calling the police to help him after having shot himself."

When police arrived, a scuffle ensued.

"They said that Josh lunged at them and attempted to disarm an officer," his other said. "In addition to his gunshot wound to the face, Josh suffered a fractured jaw and injury to his face and head."

He was treated at a hospital for the facial and ear wounds caused by a bullet that he fired and then transferred to the Cook County Jail, where he was placed in the general population, his lawyer said. He got no mental health treatment and no medications while in jail, Butler said.

"I think people look at mental illness as if it is a crime instead of treating the illness," Gabriel Mitchell said. "They knew of his mental illness, yet they throw him in jail with no treatment?"

His mother, a Chicago public elementary school teacher, bailed him out after more than a week. She desperately sought a full-time mental health program for Marks, but she could not find a one with an available bed, Butler said.

"After this, Josh was determined to get well," his mother said.

Mitchell "continually ran into roadblocks" as she put her focus into finding help for her son, Butler said. "Access to long-term, in-patient mental health care is extremely limited. How can you appropriately treat your loved one's mental health challenges if access to necessary care is virtually non-existent?"

She "felt as if her hands were tied" but "she was doing everything she could to get him in treatment," Butler said. Mitchell enrolled her son in an outpatient program that was "the best available through insurance," she said.
