I am the one with the company that was bought by new ownership last month. On day 2 they violated company protocol and had technology bypass my passwords so a new employee could work as me on our system(new employee had not been cleared by big company to work yet). I put that aside and have tried to make things work the last 6 weeks or so.
I think my days are numbered. I have a feeling I may be managed out or I just might leave on my own. I don't think I am first on their chopping block. Sadly, that is co-worker B. They have already changed her pay scale from last month. They are riding her ridiculously hard and are nitpicking all her work, calling her out on some very trivial stuff. Yep she is being managed out, she knows this and has been looking elsewhere (no luck so far).
They really are not nice people and I am not sure they are completely ethical (can you be partly ethical?) lol They have already violated the contract with the previous owner. I don't know all the details but I do know attorneys are involved again. And I know if previous owner wanted to they could call off the entire deal. Previous owner isn't going to do this but a letter has been drawn up that if new owners do X again than Y is going to happen.
They have lied directly to 2 of our big accounts. One was in person and so bad that I had to leave the room. I later got a call from client going WTF if this is how they are going to work I am outta here. I calmed client down assurred him everything would be ok but he is creating a back-up plan.
I have started to clean out my personal stuff (don't have much here), cleaning out my emails and files. Nothing that is noticeable, I am not walking out every night with a big box or anything. And I have started to think what I might want to do. I think I want to stay in this industry. I have a good rep. I am not sure I would stay affiliated with same big company (different owners) or go to a competitor. I love my clientel, some have become personal friends. I used to love my job and it just sux that a very good thing is being ruined.
Problem.....I most likely would take a pay cut. Previous owner was generous with pay, perks and benefits. They appreciated a good employee, these people not so much.

keep doing what ur doing
slowly taking personal belongings out of work, keeping networking opportunities open, looking for other work opportunities elsewhere, and keep on working at your current job even though it sucks right now
hang in there

That is probably one reason they are trying to get rid of you. They can bring in someone else for less pay. Good Luck.

Ugh. Have you started searching for other employment? I'm sorry it turned out like this.

I do realize my salary and perks could end up harming me in the end. But I do believe I am safe for a few months. They need me to keep clients happy during the transition. And at the rate they are ticking some of them off it could be a never ending job......ha. Seriously, clients will end up leaving, making me more expendable.........I am sure I will be blamed for the mass exodus.
I have thought about going on my own. I don't want to take on that expense alone. I have been approached about running a business that will be backed financially by someone who has nothing to do with the industry. Still very early in discussions and to be honest I am not sure it will work. But it has caused me to start thinking out of the box.
For now I am continuing on as usual. Putting out the fires they cause daily and trying to plan for my next step.

What a lousy position to be in. Just keep a smile on your face and in your voice about your work situation and come here to complain to high heaven.
And keep your eyes and ears open for other opportunities.
Good luck.

You are in a no win situation, so the best you can do with it is what you are doing. Try to set yourself up such that when an opportunity to jump ship comes, you can jump with both feet.
Good luck.

...:::"any chance you could start up your company with that WTF client?":::...
This would be bad-ass. Although don't you have to be sublimely careful about HOW you do it? You have to word it just right so that you aren't violating any "poaching clients" clauses or whatever.
If you play your cards right, you could definitely walk out of there with all their valuable clients.
