I missed the main event today as I was out hiking! But DH said the Sheriff came by looking for the deadbeat. This would be the one we had to evict from our home about 14 months ago. I suspect this is probably a warrant for failing to pay for unemployment insurance from the State. There were a number of envelopes that came from the unemployment department which we sent back "moved, no longer at this address". DH told the sheriff that we evicted them and he was a little amused. DH didn't have access to my files but told him that he could Google the deadbeat and find his current place of business. I'm sure having the deadbeat arrested at his workplace will have quite an impression on his patients and his employer!

Warrant for failing to pay unemployment insurance? Doubtful as I believe that would be a civil matter.
Could you maybe call the Sharriff's office and give them the address of their new residence and maybe try to find out what the warrant is for? Inquiring minds want to know - well, to be honest, I am really bored and nosey as hell!
Can't wait to hear what happens next with them - gotta love former tenants - the gift that never stops giving!
ETA - you could also Google Arrest Warrants for the city you reside in and find it there from his name.
LOL that you were out and of course men never get the good stuff in situations like this.

If he collected unemployment while looking for his new position, but didn't pay in a sufficient amount towards it before his business folded, an in person warrant doesn't surprise me.

Actually, there could indeed be a warrant for Bonny's ex-tenant. It's called a tax warrant, and while not every state issues, them, many do. Wisconsin, Connecticut, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas and Virginia all issue them for failing to pay unemployment insurance. Not sure where Bonny's house is, or I could check.

Did not think of it that way - definitely a criminal offense when the things you all have pointed out are considered.
Feel sorry for the family as it appears to be a train wreck occurring but fascinating to watch.

I used to feel sorry for the wife but unless she had no clue, I don't see how they could go from all 5 of them going to Europe, spending hundreds of dollars on dance lessons to filing for BK 1 year later...while she was in NYC attending her middle child's try-outs for Billy Elliot.

Wow Bonny what a story! Speaking about clueless wives, have you seen Blue Jasmine? Your last comment reminded me of that.

California We did look up deadbeat's name and business on our County court register. There was a bench warrant issued back in June of 2012 for failing to appear for a civil court case. I can't imagine that it would take over 1 year for them to track him down.

Wonder if they have been evicted from their next residence?
As far as the wife, I totally agree with you.

The good news is that the warrant will remain active until they are found. The really good news is that they will be found. They can run, but it's hard to hide forever.

You are providing several valuable public services: 1. Teaching new wannabe landlords the good along with the bad, and even better... 2. Providing free entertainment! PLEASE keep the stories coming!

But, but, but, their kid has star-quality talent ! She should be able to use her God-given talent to make the world a better place ! ( Everyone hold hands, sway from side to side, and start to sing " What the world needs now, Is Love Sweet Love..." )
