I have the Directv protection plan. Yes, I know how dumb that is, but I seem to have more than my share of technical problems plus all the leased receivers are really old. Some of my problems are DH problems as in the access card didn't work so they replaced it. Then the receiver couldn't read it so they replaced the receiver. Then they came out to fix something else and Dh (who didn't fix that receiver) said the bedroom receiver didn't work so they fixed it again. Would you want to call a technician you had to PAY for with DH's selective memory and hearing? I thought not.
The useless company move, though, is to return the access card they replaced the bad access card with. I know they will send me a "kit' to do that (I mentioned it to the guy tonight and he took 15 minutes to set up the kit). But he said it wasn't activated in the first place.
So why do I have to return it as opposed to shredding it? Does producing that card with whatever chip that is embedded in it cost more than the postage to send a "kit" to me and then pay return postage?
Sounds so dumb to me.
