Possible sign of a sinus infection, or a problem in a tooth, or the tonsils.

When I sneeze I smell wet dog. This isn't one of those Hollywood skits where a woman wakes up and incrementally notices unusual things until eventually realizing that a genie has switched her and her dog's bodies to teach her a lesson about kindness to animals ...is it?

No. It's probably a sinus infection but I was just wondering of anyone else ever had this issue.
Edit: and I like animals. I don't really med lessons to be kind to them.

Check if you can still walk biped just in case. Maybe your dog is fat and the lesson is that you shouldn't be so much of a pushover feeding him or something. "Sinus infection" sounds like something mmhmm just made up to sound all doctory. I'm pretty sure women don't even have sinuses.

LOL! No, guys. "Wet dog smell" is sorta classic with sinus infections. You get all kinds of descriptions, and "wet dog" is one of them.

I guess "zombie dog" as an explanation is a bit too much of a stretch. No worse than "sinus infection" though.

Maybe sinuses are the repositories for all the souls of dogs who died wet?

There are other smellers of the wet dog. Just be thankful your mouth doesn't "taste like a dead dog". Sometimes, when patients offer descriptions, it's all you can do not to break down in front of them!

No, but I've had a wet, smelly dot that sneezed. Actually, when a wet, smelly dog sneezes, I guess I've had (as the owner ) sneezes that smell exactly ( ! ) like a wet, smelly dog.

When I sneeze I smell wet dog. First, Morton's neuroma. Then, a new truck. Then a new tractor. Now, dog sneezes. Anyone see a pattern here ? I don't, but metaphysically, there must be one.

Are you losing your sense of taste as well ? If that is happening, be sure to tell your doctor.
There are very rare cases where peoples' sinuses become "seeded" with a bacteria or fungus, and since the sinuses are nice, warm places, the invader can grow unabated.
Hopefully it's just a regular sinus infection and not something more serious.
Good luck.

Swamp, do you still have your tonsils? I'm leaning towards infected tonsils, or strep. (Sinus infection was already taken.)
