Good for her. She has been 'paid' for part of her time spent answering her phone from this idiot.

Smart cookie.
Only problem is, probably close to 50% of the general population fall for these cons and rip-off artists.
What bugs me is, that many senior citizens aren't all that savvy to internet or phone scams - and they're easy targets.
There's always someone preying on the gullible - or desperate. And there's always a sucker they'll catch on their line. They usually prey on senior citizens or those on assisted living (welfare, financial aid, etc).
This scam has been going on for years. I'm surprised these con-artists are still getting away with it - and people are still falling for it..
No doubt this was one of the many cons/schemes coming out of Africa. There's not a lot we here on this continent can do when these scams are coming in from overseas.

The problem with these kinds of news stories is that not all of these "scams" are scams. For example, I was convinced my Nigerian friend Marty was trying to pull a fast one on me when he started asking me for money to invest in his gold mine. But eventually I got a letter from the Nigerian Departmant of the Interier, notarized by the Nigerian Secretary of Comerce, proving the legitimacy of the venture. I'll be sure to toss you losers a bone or two when I'm spending my gold profits. Just two more weeks before the first cheque comes in...

Obviously your "friends" in Nigeria were scamming you - they spelled "Commerce" wrong.

No doubt- I sent 50K to a close friend of a very wealthy man in jail in Spain. As soon as we get him out it is easy street for me- not to mention the hot daughter who facebooked me and I think might have a crush on me Good thing they stumbled upon me email. Leisure life- take me away.

They just don't get it, do they, evt? I guess we can lead them to water, but... well. Catch you on the warm, sunny beach sometime.

I love it!!! Feisty little gal. He lost his money. I still don't understand, with all the publicity about these types of scammers, how some people are still getting taken.good for her.
