Rules:

3. Starting price is the opening price on first trading day of week.
4. Ending price is closing price on last trading day of week.
5. No options or complex trading vehicles. Only stocks and ETFs.
6. Opening prices will be those found at MSN Money. Any disputed opening price will be resolved using the price listed at Yahoo Finance historical quotes

than their Friday close.....Seldom happens that way.

I noticed TIVO, QQQ, and NFLX had different opening prices at MSN and Yahoo so I will check the historical open listed at Yahoo tomorrow and use those values as the "official opens" While I check commodity quotes and such over the weekend on a semi regular basis, I too have noticed how CNBC and MSN will many times, have different closing prices. Very frustrating. I am not sure if one entity uses after hour trades to list closing prices or not, but one should assume a closing price is the last trade of the day, and would be the same quote price for everyone. I understand on commodities, sometimes they may not be using the same month (one might quote Sept, the other August when a contract month is close to expiration ) when using pricing, but they usually do state what month they are posting. Very frustrating. |
