ETA- Some of the comments, while scathing, are rather on point too.

My daughter is 3 and she thinks The Pretender's song "My City Was Gone" is the "Rush song".  I mean, will the children's book (which we've pre-ordered) be nice?  Sure. But we don't absolutely need it for the indoctrination- we're handling that pretty well on our own.

I've been listening a long, long time- since at least 1992, and maybe longer- and I'm having a hard time conjuring a memory of Rush 'railing against drug addicts' and 'insisting they need to go to jail'

Honestly, I've never listened to rush as my head might explode, but I remember a few clips of rushs rants about drug addicts being played on the Howard stern show when rush was caught.

Yep- old news.  I remember when that happened- but of course he never intended those statements to apply to himself or get caught either.  Hypocrisy runs deep in that camp.  Don't recall much complaints about the ACLU going to bat for him either.  That's the great thing about the ACLU- they defend anyone on principle whether they are scumbags or not.  I think that's why some of the right wing hates the ACLU- they defend everyone's rights- including those that disagree with them.  Doesn't make sense to them that an organization can defend both Muslims AND Christians.  If you don't take a side you must be the enemy.
