Nope, I figured out a while ago that my mom only felt she has beauty and talent going for her. The beauty fades but her talent never did except for her voice. Her beauty only faded because she let herself go. Her skin was always like a baby's butt, so creamy and smooth. That Irish and Scottish gift of genes.

Zimmerman seems to me to be on a path to self destruction, something the holier than thous will be thrilled about. His life has been ruined because of malicious prosecution and I'm sure he will die very soon. That ought to satisfy the haters. I tend to agree with you, from the little I've read, zib. Here's a guy who hasn't had a lot of success in his life. His dad was a magistrate (not that that means much, but it would to many). It's my guess George has never felt he's living up to expectations (his or those of others). All of a sudden, he's in the spotlight and stays there for awhile. His picture is in the paper and his name is on everyone's lips. He's scared, but that publicity is like a drug to someone with low self-esteem. When he was found not guilty, there was a lot of hubbub which quickly began to die down but his need for it hasn't. The traffic stops haven't been something he planned, but they've been egging that need on by fulfilling it, in a way. He's getting involved in public displays to fill that void. Most folks would have crawled into their hidey-holes and tried to keep as low a profile as possible, just wanting life to go back to normal. The fact that George hasn't done so is what cues me (at least) that there's a problem. Apparently, his wife sees it, too. He hasn't been with her trying to get their lives back together. Instead, he's been galavanting around trying to find that illusive spotlight. I feel sorta sorry for the guy, at this point. He's not the brightest bulb on the tree and he's not handling all this very well, IMO. <removes "shrink hat" and wanders off to fix breakfast > Suicide by cop or anyone else.

I have never understood why any of this was national news, The shooting was not remarkable, It happens almost everyday. Using self defense and getting acquitted happens everyday. Going to a gun shop or manufacture happens everyday. getting stopped for speeding happens a million times a day. Getting a divorce happens every day. So why is any of this national news? Would your marriage survive this?

I doubt it. But I think the one thing we all can agree on is that he has some serious issues that he needs help for, otherwise the consequences for him will not be pretty.

Realizing you have to go back to being a nobody, after the interests that be no longer have a use for you, is a hard pill to swallow for some. He can still come around and restart his life. If many can feel that lifetime criminals in prison can be rehabilitated, why not this man? He was aquitted and not even a criminal. Time to move on and use something else to advance your agenda.

I should have complained when the roofer on the school roofs butt was showing. I'd have liked SWAT to show up!

Would your marriage survive this? You really don't know? The shooting was quite remarkable- generally people are arrested when they kill unarmed people in public- especially kids. Had there been an arrest the media spectacle would have never started- add gun nuts and racists, political angles and here we are. He became a public figure because of his actions and news is going to pop up- same with all of the other murderers that are roaming around free. Always a Casey Anthony story popping up- he joined the ranks of notorious faux celebrities. And remember- he went on Hannity, his brother and neighbors went on talk shows, he is pretty much responsible for all of it.

I expect this will end even quieter than the other ones. An arrest, but likely no conviction, no jail time.

Perhaps we can keep all the Florida hatred and George Zimmerman related posts bottled up in this thread. It would be much better than having 5 threads a day started by the same person or persons on these subjects. For the record...I see this thread quickly fading away into oblivion because the person or persons who should be constantly using it will ignore it and continue to post countless threads about the above stated subjects. i have nothing against Florida, in particular. they have problems, and there are great things about the state. just like everywhere else. GZ is an asshat, however.

Yep- the police should have apologized to George for bothering him as every woman needs a bottle chucked at them every now and then. Just another in the line of women out to get George Never his fault for doing anything- just a solid upstanding murderer, rapist, pedophile, citizen and right wing hero.

Meh. It's just another he-said, she-said. I'm not saying he didn't do it, but I will say that legally- it's never going to stick because there's no evidence other than (I presume) a broken bottle. He never laid a hand on her, and there's no video. Though this dimwit should pretty much assume there's going to be video of him doing something idiotic at some point. He hasn't exactly figured out there's a bullseye on his back, and/or he hasn't figured out how to deal with it, move on, and keep his shit together.

And he has a whole lot of she saids in his past.
He will end up in jail- just a matter if he kills someone else or not first. That's been my prediction since the end of the trial. I could care less- he's your boy, not mine. Or are you going to disown him like the GOP did once they figured out what he was really all about, like they did with your other hero Bundy? Have to hand it to Fox and the other right wing media- you can sure pick your heroes.

Have to hand it to Fox and the other right wing media- you can sure pick your heroes. My "boy" is the rule of law. He shouldn't have gotten out of his car to follow or go looking for Trayvon Martin because doing so was foolish. However, he had every right, as idiotic as it may have been, to observe activity in public view in his private community. And he had every legal right to defend himself after Trayvon Martin laid in wait for him, jumped him, and started bashing his head into the sidewalk. The police investigated the incident, and they did the right thing to begin with by releasing him as the law requires. The involvement of the race baiters, and the ensuing witch hunt which led inevitably to his ultimate acquittal was a disgusting display of mob rule with government support at the highest levels. A truly sad event. With respect to Bundy, I'm not sure any GOP officials supported him. I believe it was local militias that came to his aid? Could be wrong- I didn't follow that story as closely. You'll remember the Trayvon Martin incident happened in my back yard, and it was wall to wall here. And btw- it's interesting how conservatives and Fox News can support a rabid Obama supporter like Zimmerman. The liberal press hung him out to dry when he didn't fit their agenda. Conservatives, on the other hand, can support the rule of law in any situation.

Rabid Obama supporter? I don't recall anything at all about his politics other than he was on Hannity. And what difference does it make who a murderer supports? Doesn't change anything- besides he couldn't possibly a liberal because liberals don't own guns
