If you wrote more than one post on this thread, I didn't see them. Last night, when I saw this post, I saw down at the bottom the "jump to page" field, and in that little white box was the number "1". I thought that meant there was only one page of posts, so that's all I read. Unfortunately, the number of pages isn't prominently displayed, so I made that mistake.

It just seemed to me from your initial post that you wanted to keep marriage and civil unions separated. I've never heard the argument to make all "marriages" civil unions, assuming that's what you meant. Thus it threw me off.

Just had a thought after reading this post.

That is true, but where does it say traditions can't be changed due to time , mores, change in attitude , so many reasons. I think that is what is happening today.

While there are still traditionalist who might not see it that way, over time , not always on all subjects, but on many subjects, time and acceptence of the new do change how we look at things.

It wasn't that long ago , when I purchased my first home, my wife at the times, who was working as a teacher, her salary was not considered by the bank when we applied for a loan. their reasoning, basically she was not really considered a reguler employee, a bread winner so to speak, they figured, correctly actually, that she would become pregnant and stop working. That happened but today, that would not be a detriment, as it would also be reasoned that after a short time period, the child would go to child care and she would be back in the work force, which for most couples are the way it works out, So in time the traditional does change.

For those Gay people who wish a union with another, the love and commitment are the same and they don't want to settle for a legal union, it is not enough.
They want the legal title of 'Married " to be applied to their union, their feelings are as strong for each other and to settle for anything less is not acceptable and for the life of me I can't see why that shouldn't happen for those who wish that, with all the rights and privalags that that title confers on a couple, whether in assetts, insurence, whatever .
Whether it is a civil ceremony as so many heterosexual customers opt for, {my daughter was married by a cousin who got her Justice of peace title just to be able to perform the ceremony, their wish, , their own vows, and another cousin, in Maine last year same thing or if they are married by a clergyman or woman of their choice in the faith they are comfortable in.

The Mods here with the exception of Diverdown 34 who is older than dirt have not taken their classes at Charm School or Anger Management yet so pls be patient with the Newbies...

Although I understand TraelinO is so diligent he has been studying all the material re: Charm School & Anger Management and asked me a ton of questions about those two subjects since I completed both courses a few years ago at the top of the class...

I've already answered this question in a previous post. Perhaps if you paid more attention to them instead of taxing your brain for some lame insults, I wouldn't have to repeat myself.
