That article is from 1996, Zairein. The man died in the hospital. As Swamp says, these folks don't work. They're on disability, usually. They're unable to work and must have caregivers to provide for their needs.

I was just going to say that story is almost 20 years old - I remember a similar story a few years ago where a morbidly obese person had to be removed from their apartment using a crane in order to be transported to hospital - transport had to be done on a flatbed trailer.
Morbid obesity is often not so much caused by over-eating, but more by a medical problem (such as hypothyroidism) for example.

1996? I just heard of this story (well a similar one) today and did the search at work. LOL
caregivers! and they don't work. I'm sure it takes a decent amount of money, cost of food to have gotten that size. plus I'm sure they don't go out and probably can not walk. so someone is feeding them/ him. I thought home health aides cost a lot of money and insurance doesn't cover that?

I'd be willing to bet I know more about this issue than you do.

If you're unable to say something using your own words, paul, that's your problem, not mine. No. I do not like you "fixing" my posts. I also don't find you "hilarious".

Actually, no, I didn't ask for it. If I didn't know better (or, do I?), I'd say you were baiting me. That's not the case, though, I'm sure. I will say this: I don't care all that much and won't waste my time doing anything about it, but don't do this to anyone else. If someone asks you to stop "fixing" their posts, I don't expect to see you fly in their face as you have in mine, Paul. That would definitely be baiting and it won't be tolerated.
