Got it, so when people see a weirdo walking around in public armed like he's patrolling a street in Afghanistan they should wait to call the cops until he actually shoots somebody. You do that, and I'll call the police as soon as I see the guy. That's the beauty of a free country, we're free to react differently. And the police should have come out...checked the guy out...and then once he let them know what the law was and that the silencer was legal...they should let those who called know what the law is. You should always be mindful of your surroundings...and while I may not agree with somebody's actions....I would most definitely keep an eye on them. If a guy is legally carrying a gun openly I would be sure to keep an eye of them in case he reaches for the weapon. I just find it humorous that most people are so afraid of a guy carrying a weapon openly and aren't concerned with the many others that have passed them with concealed weapons....that are more than likely ACTUALLY loaded. I guess people fear what they see and ignore what they can't.

I wouldn't call the police if I saw somebody openly carrying a sidearm. I grew up in Arizona near a lot of ranch land, where it was pretty common to see guys in western clothes walking around with a revolver on their hip. Doesn't bother me. A silenced AR-15 and body armor is a little different though. They're both legal, but I question the mental state of the armored AR-15 guy.
I already know it's legal for him to carry that way. I don't need a cop to tell me. The cop probably knows it's legal too. It's also really fucking weird, and both me and the cop would want to know what the guy was up to. Human nature.

Yes...but most people on this site are a little more educated to laws and such than your average citizen. Sure...I would find it odd...and that's why I said I would definitely keep an eye on the guy. Know your surroundings is a good adage to live by.

One morning I was eating breakfast with some friends at a Denny's, I mentioned I bought a new Ruger .44 mag pistol. someone said let's see it, I went to my truck brought it in. In the next 10 minutes the other 3 friends had got their guns. The restaurant was full, No one paid any attention to us. Of course that was Rock Springs Wy. 37 years ago, I don't think I would try that here in Phoenix now.

30 years of the major media villifying guns. ( It was 1983 when Jim Brady got hit in the Reagan assasination attempt wasn't it ?) Gun owners are crazy, criminals, unbalanced etc. Why would you need such a device. Some one walking down the street with one just has to have something wrong with them. Population density is the key here. Once you reach a certain population density level, guns are only owned or carried by gun nuts. Normal people don't have them. Population density gun nut level varies by political makeup of different areas.

When Reagan got shot, it was different. Funny, huh?

Too long ago (too young)to remember the reasoning behind the legislation.

Know your surroundings is a good adage to live by. Someone like Dark describes walking around in public and you're going to watch him? So, you're watching him and he goes for the gun when he reaches a heavily populated intersection. What now? You gonna call the cops now? I wonder how many will be dead by the time the cops arrive and how many will blame the cops for all those deaths ... like they're supposed to be able to read some nut's mind. I'm with Dark and Swamp. If I see a guy walking around in body armor and carrying an AR-15 (silenced, or not), I'm going to call the cops right then.
