What? It isn't enough that I show up for work? Now you want me to be coherent too? It seems like it is never enough -> someone is always raising the bar

I like to raise things at the bar, too. Usually frosty glasses filled with potables and ice cubes. Then I can't see very well after awhile, and fall down a lot. Oh wait. What were we talking about ??!!

The recent grads hired at my workplace. They have no relationship with Grammar. They can't construct a coherent paragraph. Instructions or Requests are often gibberish. There is no frame of reference or context . . . its like they start writing in the middle of a thought. Maybe they know ebonics better than english. Maybe texting will take all communications back to shorthand & there will be no need to communicate longhand anymore. Don't beat me - I can't help myself. Is English spelled with a capital letter? Did I use the correct form of 'capital'? OMG. I am now scared to death to make an error! I need help!

I'm sure it's just a language issue and if I read more of his posts, they'd make sense, but every time Bimetalaupt posts, I have to read them 3 times and still have no clue what he's trying to convey. Not sure if it's just me or if there is a "coherent English" issue there. At least with Snowbird, you could guess her meaning most of the time and the rest of the time she'd just be cutting and pasting from something that was written in English, but with Bimetalaupt, it all seems completely random...

I don't have a clue what he's saying either. Oh, good. The first few times I read one of his posts, I thought I might be having a stroke. There were recognizable words there, I just couldn't assemble them in a way that made sense logically. It worried me.

Ah, but you missed that he should have said, "smarter than I". I think it should be "smarter than me" because me is used instead of I when one is referring to themselves as a direct object in the sentence. Or I could be wrong. I was under the impression that if you replace the wording in a sentence referring to yourself only you have the solution to the problem. Such as "You and I need to go to the store." Take out the "You and..." then the correct word can be revealed. But then I could be wrong as well.

It's a great pity the right of free speech isn't based on the obligation to say something sensible.

Good gosh, yes! I've read medical charts that left me scratching my head and looking for the Excedrin bottle!
