It's a great pity the right of free speech isn't based on the obligation to say something sensible.

This particular member of the public agrees with the president absolutely. The judge seems to think the public isn't astute enough to accept the president speaking his mind without connecting it to what a "convening authority" finds upon investigation. Personally, I believe a "member of the public" to be fully capable of discerning the president's statement as a demand for accountability in these cases. Accountability, with regard to these particular crimes would, of necessity, demand exactly what the president stated he would expect to see. I'm with the president. I don't have any tolerance for this, either!

DD has decided to not go military for now and after reading about the amount of REPORTED sexual assaults and how piss poor these are and were handled, I have no issue with anyone saying this carp needs to stop and stop now. The coverup is unreal.

That's exactly how I feel, zib. I'm so glad your DD has made the decision not to enter at this time. I admire her for wanting to serve, but this just isn't the time. As far as I'm concerned, I'm glad the president took a strong stand on his feelings about this mess! Perhaps, the judge needs to realize just how bad this really is and what it takes to get people to take such a strong stance on an issue. We're all furious about it, and enough is e-damned-nough! There's no reason on earth they can't go ahead and try these people and boot their arses into jail for what they've done!

The coverup is unreal. Zib, when you mentioned in another thread that you were upset DD decided not to go in the military, my thought was I would not want my daughter in the miltary with all the sexual assaults going on and the seeming acceptance of it by military comand. Boggles my mind. The Presiden't comments don't seem to say that a particulary person is gulity - just that things need to change. I agree with what he said and as a voter an a taxpayer I do expect sexual assaults and sexual harassment in the military to stop.
