What does that have to do with the quote of a poster here you used in your post, paul? What does it have to do with anyone here? Nothing, that's what. This thread isn't really about anything except gun control. I'm simply pointing out that the regime that wants to disarm the average citizen, and uses anecdotes like this to make their case, spent the early part of their reign supplying dangerous Mexican drug cartels with military grade assault weapons. It has EVERYTHING to do with this thread.

The Conservatives love to gloss over the little details of Fast and Furious. The guns weren't given to anyone. They were sold by a legal gun shop in Arizona and trucked across the border. The only thing the government did was introduce electronic tagging equipment into the guns before they were sold to the gun shop in order to track how the legally obtained guns were getting into Mexico. The people supplying Mexican drug cartels with guns are gun store owners in border states. They've been doing it for decades, they're still doing it right now, they've known they've been doing it, and they'll keep doing it. All they care about is whether or not the buyer has cash.

It's a great pity the right of free speech isn't based on the obligation to say something sensible.

It has EVERYTHING to do with this thread. No. Actually, the thread is about what the title indicates it's about, paul. It's about a case in Florida where a man threatened the president and tried to hire someone to kill his family. Threads are not about what YOU, personally, decide they're about. While gun control may be a side issue, there is nobody on this site who has EVER advocated giving guns to Mexican drug cartels. Not one poster.
