DS1 is now stationed in Coronado, he is looking for an an apt. Can anyone recommend good areas for him to look in, Coronado is out of his price range, he has no problem with a 20-30 min commute to the base. right now he is looking in Pacific Beach,Imperial Beach,Ocean Beach areas, Thanks in advance for any help

I have some friends that did their grad work at USCD. I know they were on limited funds, I'll ask them what area they lived in (I can picture it from my trips, but I have no clue what it's called)
what's your DS's price range?

okay, heard back from my friend, he said "He could try Pacific Beach (college area) or Mission Beach (bohemian) though I'm unsure of actual commute times. We lived in Hillcrest (a bit further south but more expensive) and loved it." my thought was to suggest that DS head over to UCSD and check out the bulletin boards for apartments to rent. he'll probably find that's where his price range is. good luck to DS!
