I was talking about that movie the other day, asking if anyone wanted to see it, and mistakenly said Katherine Heigal was in it... I was surprised when corrected... It's not a looks thing, I just don't envision Aniston in the role.

I haven't gone to a strip club, but I've watched cops--one girl was pretty nasty looking, but she was able to go in for half an hour or so and make enough money that they didn't tow her car...

I guess it depends on the strip club and if they are day or night time strippers.  Portland has a ton of clubs, I think Jennifer Aniston would be a huge step up for a lot of them.  But, yeah, she doesn't seem the stripper type.

I could see it.  I've been in some pretty skeezy strip clubs that had performers that looked a lot worse.  Her problem is probably more her face than her body.  She has a very wholesome girl next door kind of face.  She's never looked sexy.

This face reminds you too much of your mom and most people don't want to be thinking about their mom moaning in their ear during a lap dance;


This moaning in your ear during a lap dance though makes you think things you can't talk about even with close friends;


It's not so much the age, it's just the look.  One is cute, one is sexy.

saw the movie today and I agree - she really didn't do her research on what a stripper does. well rather she wasn't a convincing stripper. but then again on second thought, some real life places the girls actually just stand there on stage.
Plus strippers make great money per night. she really shouldn't have been (her character) that broke. Her body and the club she worked at she could have made rent - NYC one bedroom rent in at least 3 nights!
but the movie was funny from beginning to end I really enjoyed it!

If she'd done different (more meaty) roles on TV other than over a decade on "Friends", you probably wouldn't be so judgmental of her character as a stripper.

I think people don't see her as a realistic one, because they're thinking of her as the wholesome "Rachel" character.

I've seen a few movies she's done - and her "Rachel" character always seems to cloud any other character or role she plays.

I think the correct term is hooker.  When you're young and hot guys will throw money at you just to look.  When you're old and start to sag they won't pay unless they can touch.

She looks a hell of a lot better than some of the real-life strippers who are 20/30-ish and need to be in some substance induced stupor to get up there and "perform" - basically just going through the motions - collecting their money, and buying more shit to take (usually supplied by their "bosses/managers").

A lot of them also have "second jobs", if you know what I mean.

You have to take the movie for what it is - a movie - not the real thing - just a fictional interpretation/scripted story. Nothing more.

Ms Aniston got paid big bucks to do the movie - why not play the part?

And the story wasn't even about her or the stripping - it was centered around "David" (Jason Sudeikis) and him being forced by his boss to pick up a load of of MJ - and having to hire "Rose" (Aniston) and the two teens to pretend to be his family traveling on vacation to Mexico to improve his odds of getting across the border.
