So I was doing this police report / statement and as part of the admin data the cop asks me my date of my birth and I tell him.......then the very next question he asks "How old are you?".....

I know they used to do that when we were young to see if we had fake IDs. That would trip up some people especially after they already had a few and got caught being in the bar. Don't ask me how I know this.

Standard practice to make sure you are not impersonating someone to get out of a warrant floating around.

I wanted to be a cop when I graduated college, and one of the big reasons I wanted to was that I wanted to show that not all cops are meatheaded blowhards.

I wanted to be a cop when I graduated college, and one of the big reasons I wanted to was that I wanted to show that not all cops are meatheaded blowhards. I wanted to be a police officer when I was around 13 yrs old but mainly because I wanted to kick a door down, point my gun around and then yell CLEAR. Obviously I watched too much TV

I would think asking the same question 10 different ways is a good way to catch someone in a lie and/or make sure they are playing with a full deck.
