Say you had $100 to spend. What would you stock up on?

Toilet paper, dish soap, Pull-Ups, wipes.
If we don't have to buy the second two substitute chicken breasts and dog food.

LOL! Right now I'm running low on the following: toothpaste, dish soap, and Britta Water Filters. I'd add trash bags and maybe tooth brushes too. I'm good with laundry detergent (at least another 8 months!), aluminum foil, ibuprophen tablets, and feminine hygiene products. Those are things I buy in 'year supply' quantities at Sam's. My Sam's membership expired back in October of 2012. I'm running down my stockpiles in anticipation of the opening of a Costco about 2 miles from my home sometime this Fall. I'm hoping there's some sort of "grand opening" free or nearly free membership deals and/or lots of useful 'grand opening' coupons. I figure I'll either join costco if they give me some great deal to do so - OR I'll use some credit card rewards to rejoin Sam's and restock my shelves this fall.

CL is joking about the socks, but I'm not. Right now my home stockpiles are pretty good, so if they don't have any organic chickens (for my freezer), I'd probably buy socks for our homeless outreach program. That is the #1 requested clothing item from the program's clients. The center blows through socks at the rate of probably 2 dozen a day .

It's mostly a joke because the only person without an overabundance of socks at my house is youngest DS who probably has all of them under his bed somewhere. I'm not going down there though, I'm scared!

That too. I couldn't think of anything interesting to ask. I'm dull. Last time I looked at thread someone posted but didn't ask a question. Kinda hard to keep it going with no question Oh, I think I will go there and give an answer just like Jeopardy But to answer this thread, I can't think of anything I would stock up on for $100 unless it was booze

We only have a Sam's and I don't have a membership, not really worth it being a single person HH, but mom has one and I do like to go once or twice a year when she's here and stock up. I don't usually spend $100, but the things I like to get are allergy meds (over a years worth for under $15), ibuprofen, Famous Amos chocolate chip cookie individual bags, trash bags, dog flea medicine, and may try something new that catches my eye. Oh, and Sam's cakes are to die for. We usually get a birthday cake whether it is anyone's birthday or not

I like a lot of the ideas above. Never thought about buying fem products or allergy pills there. K, am back from the big city and bought (I eat low carb): $88.81 (includes tax): Canned chicken (will last 2 mo) Tuna (also 2 mo) Green beans (4 mo) Bush's baked beans and Mandarin oranges for DH Black olives (3 mo) Vienna sausage Green chili sauce (3 mo) Zero calorie flavored sparkling water 3 pack Vaseline lotion I also bought a big bag of Jolly Ranchers for my office candy jar (I don't care for them, so it's a good match).

Can you get out of Costco spending only $100?? They have some awesome Tommy Bahama bed quilts (light weight) for $25. I bought 2, but might go back and get one for every bed I need new towels, so might spend $100 on the nice towels at Costco. Almost did the other day, but my local costco doesn't have the same color selection as one further up north, so I will probably stop in next time I head north. And since Mich reminds me, I need Lysol or Pinesol all purpose cleaner. Have been cleaning with vinegar since I'm out of the others, but don't love the couple hours of vinegar scent while things are drying

At Costco...the chipotle black bean burgers and the new Tommy Bahama beach cart. I have a perfectly good beach cart, so I can't bring myself to buy a new one, but I want it! It matches my umbrellas.

The brand Charisma towels that Costco carries are fantastic. I don't think I have ever had a better towel. They are also over-sized in all sizes...wash cloth, hand towel, bath towel. I have replaced all of our master bath towels with this brand. Charisma sheets are also exceptional. I have also replaced all of my other sheets with these, 400 thread ct.
Both the towels & sheets are 1/2 the price of the same brand at Amazon.
It doesn't take me long to spend $100 at either place....and I belong to both. Each carries things I use that the other one doesn't and between them, I save around $1000 a year on what I would pay for the same groceries at either Walmart or another grocery store....even with sales.

I do have a Sam's Club membership and I am a one person household. Our store has a gas station and the difference in the gas price pays for my membership.
I stock up on toilet paper, garbage bags, etc. when I do shop.

Vitamins and discounted movie tickets. That's pretty much all we ever got when we went with the MIL. It's just DH and I, and we don't shop/buy enough there to make the membership worth it. The only times we got it was when buying car batteries. They were only $50 there, $100 at all other places, so paid the $100 (batteries plus $50 membership fee). Then our cars got too old, and they stopped carrying our batteries.

Just a little added note for Costco....
I need new glasses. My DH is a Veteran and I'm eligible to get reduced prices for glasses through the VA. They won't do the exam on me, but will do the glasses and there are even some free frames you can choose from if you wish. Well, Costco beat the VA prices on my prescription by $10!
