Hoping to get more strict with NS days in September. More specifically, cutting down our grocery and eating out spending, using leftovers instead of letting them go to waste, cooking more meatless meals. It's time to seriously buckle down.

On track to have a fully NEO weekend!! This has pretty much never happened in the past five years. I'm pretty proud of us. I made tangerine beef stir fry for dinner when I really wanted thai food. It was a pretty good substitute. And last night we made pizza instead of ordering out from the amazing place up the street. Small victories, which have probably saved us $50 this weekend alone. Now to keep this up... I just meal planned the next few weeks (go to plantoeat.com. I'm doing the free trial and will likely pay the $50 a year. SO helpful and helping us reduce those "ugh what to make I don't know ugh let's order out" moments!)

Rocky Mtn Saver: 10 NSD/9 CSD
As expected, all NSD's through the long weekend. Yay! Now, we just have to dig out from under the post-camping pile of laundry, supply sorting, and repacking. Ugh.

3catslady: 18 NSD, 5 CS, 4 eating out days.My car is inspected for another year and the mechanic said it should last for a long time except for the body. I have already replaced the rear wheel wells, try saying that 3 times fast. There are lots of other spots that need touched up but nothing is clear through. These old cars are meant to last with care. It is a 1990 Buick. I found out that duck tape is not legal any more. At least I now know someone that does body work and is good and not pricy. It did not need a new muffler, gas lines or brake lines. There was a hole near the catilitic (sp) converter and he welded it. No other holes anywhere. After saving $200 for the car work, I treated myself to supper out and I have no regrets.

Made it through the whole weekend without eating out, plus Monday! I did get breakfast this morning but paid with my own fun money so it still doesn't count. Going strong!!

Rocky Mtn Saver: 11 NSD/9 CSD
I'm counting yesterday as an NSD, even though it was ridiculously expensive day. I had to have some dental work and paid my portion upfront. Boo!! But it was all budgeted from my HSA, so it's not part of my spending money. Today should be a real NSD, as I brought all my soft foods to work with me. Yay for yogurt lunch. Oh, and Happy No-Spend Wednesday, everyone!!

I have to count today as a spend. I took Leo to the vet for a "pawdicure", I got tired of his needle-like claws digging into me while he is getting petted. He tends to knead against my arm and purr away, until I stop and he thinks I shouldn't. Out come his claws as he wraps his paws around my wrist to continue the procedure. $7.50 spent! I hope he appreciates it.

Although I'm going to make it, my car is making a weird noise. So I guess I can live with a cracked windshield. At least the crack is top to bottom extreme right -- so far right it is even out of passenger's line of sight
Next month it's auto (1) repair, (2) smog, & (3) new tags

Saving September is a good one. Not sure what my goal will be but thank you for letting me do this a little different ~~~ sort of a merge between NSD and the old CASH ONLY thread.

Final August Update: 22 NSDs 6 CSDs
Spent the day doing laundry and correcting the first major set of papers. All papers are turned in digital form so I have spent hours in front of the computer. Hopefully because of this marathon day I can enjoy the rest of the holiday with very little computer time.
Saving September sounds good for me also.
Will check in as I can.

I made it through the month! I have 3.74 in my checking account and $17 in cash. But I made it! Next month has to be better. I think I might do next month a little more cash only, at least until I figure out what my problem is--other than not paying attention.
How about CENTSable September

Yay, Ses!! Good job making it!
FWIW, I use envelopes for my cash system. One envelope for each week's misc spending cash, plus an envelope each for designated 'funds' like gas, eating out, entertainment, planned donations, etc. The combo of free spending money and preset limits on some things helps me play smarter.
Don't know if that helps, but that's what works for me!

If no one else wants to, I will start September thread but the last time it didn't come out right. I have to work tomorrow but I am off Wednesday so I will do it then.

I can do it but will wait until tonight to post. My net will be either $925 - $32.60 + tax for a school book that the 11th grader needs - $109 (DMV) - $560 or $518 (car inc smog). If that makes sense. Noticed 'coupon line' on form after I walked the 1st 2 miles home so I called estimator who said to research them online. According to website, I had to bring the coupons in initially. According to estimator, he'll honor them after the fact. It's up to $42 so I'm going to try (but walked a total of 3 miles home so I'm not walking back - is that a mistake? It would mean walking 12 miles today)
