3catslady: 9 NSD, 2 CSD, 0 eating out days. for those of you from the past, DIL is pregnant with Number 9. She is going to teacher's college in the fall. The baby is due in February. She has had 8-10 miscarriages in the pas 18 months. DS is still the same. I am doing what I need to do for ME.

DIL is pregnant with Number 9. unsure if you meant she has had 8 kids as well as 8-10 miscarriages in the past 18 months or if she has tried to have 1 but always miscarried. Either way, its really hard on her & good for you for focusing on yourself.

That woman needs birth control. Horrible about all her losses, but jeez.

3cats--with that many miscarriages in such a short time I am amazed her doctor has not advised against more children for a time. And why teachers college? That many kids at home will make teaching difficult, let alone her going to school.
By all means YOU come FIRST!!!!

3cats--another thought. How is she paying for school. I hope not a student loan. Being pg during her first semester and having issues carrying successfully over the recent past, sounds like a likely loan default to me. Sorry for being such a downer.

DIL has had 7 children, oldest is 25, youngest is 2. DS has one to his first marriage. That's 8. DIL has had 8-10 miscarriages in the past 18 months. They won't tell me what the Dr. says. I kept telling him that her body needs time to heal from all the stuff. But he doesn't believe me. I think she has loans and grants so she won't get any income tax back for the next couple of years. She has been teaching in a head-start type school for the past year and now wants to do the real thing. She has an associate degree in teaching from an online school. 3catslady: 9 NSD, 2 CSD, 1 eating out day.

She has an associate degree in teaching from an online school. Sorry. It's a long way from an online AA degree (was the school credited?) to a teaching degree IMHO. I'm not trying to be negative, but teachers go to school for 5 years in a State University to be able to teach. They're incredibly valuable But at least it is good enough for head start. Can any of those units be used towards her BA? FOCUS ON YOU♥

Update: 11 NSDs 4 CSDs
Finished the first week of classes. Today was a CS day as I needed to fill up the car and had planned to meet with a friend for dinner. It was in the budget therefore a CS. The earlier days of the week were the usual go to school before 7 and come straight home and collapse. The heat has been brutal. I have been averaging between 2 and 3 miles of walking a day just going from desk to desk answering questions and walking around campus. I am trying to get some laundry done tonight so I won't have to spent all day tomorrow doing it. I hope to get some little things done in the house as well as several items made for the upcoming craft shows. I think my friend and I are doing four or five this year. Hopefully I can sell some of my more detailed pieces as they are a little more pricier and I can feel that the time I spent making them was appreciated by someone other then myself.
3 cats -- my thoughts and prayers are with you.
Time to switch loads so I will log off now.

3catslady: 11NSD, 5 CSD, 2 eating out days. I had lunch with the girls and it was my turn to pay but it was budgeted so it was a CSD. I also had to get a new heater for my place. The one I had doesn't shut off any more. I plugged it in to warm the place up and when I pulled the plug, it was hot to the touch. I figured it was time to get a new one. It was only a year old and I paid $20 for it so I didn't go broke with it. The new one cost $20 also so it is an even trade. I wish I knew an electrician that doesn't charge an arm and a leg to look at the other heater. Maybe he/she could fix it for a couple bucks and I could have a back up, just in case.

This budget stuff really is an ongoing process. I have been on this board about 6.5 years. I thought I had everything figured out and was so proud of my progress and success, until a few days ago when I realized how much I was overspending. Today I got out the past six months of my bank statements to do a "financial autopsy." I hope that is far back enough to find my problems. (I'm hoping it was the house renovation and the new furnishings.) It is a very hot and humid day here so I won't mind being trapped at the desk for several hours.
I have a pantry full of whatever I need, so I am hoping to avoid the grocery store until next month. I have a full tank of gas and no trips planned. I am having a house party next weekend for a Scrabble marathon. I am sure with a little creativity I can come up with enough meals and goodies to cover the weekend with plenty of leftovers for the rest of the month.
I am going back to a notebook and recording EVERY expenditure and keeping a daily tally. I have $36 and some change for the next two weeks. We will see if I can make it.
I do NOT want to hit the savings account!!!
On a positive note, I will not have to worry about kitty treats. I made a gallon of Greek yogurt in my crock pot a few days ago (my "go to" cold meal in summer.) As I was packaging it up for the fridge, I dripped a few spots on the counter. By the time I had everything in the fridge, Leo had discovered the drips on the counter and the fact that he LOVES yogurt. Now he has to "supervise" and try taste test anything prepared on the counter--even a PBJ. If this keeps up he will be a trained chef before long.
Back to my bank statements. Everyone have a successfully austere week.

my computer was hacked again. I changed the password. It was the "FBI" again but I caught it and had DS fix the problem. I backed everything that is important to me but I don't have the operating system disc. DS can take it back to factory ready so I don't think I should need them. Can you see me downloading copyrited (sp) music and child porn? None of my RL friends can see that. I'd rather shoot the person who does either of them.

That sucks! But a better one must be around the corner $85.82 -29.54$56.28 DS & DSf burning out with new baby so Im bringing wild salmon dinner. Leaving me just $56.28 which must last! Gets harder as month goes along Reading thru some of the other posts made me wonder if it's worth it to stretch the last 10 days. If I make it, I can replace the computer system, get new glasses (they're 6 yrs old and are progressive lenses -- I don't need / use glasses for reading), and replace a cracked windshield. I really don't want to use savings for this

Rocky Mtn Saver: 5 NSD/9 CSD
We are going camping this week, so that should mean a bunch of NSD's for me! I have tons of personal projects I want to get caught up on while I'm off work and away from civilization, so I'm hoping it will be relaxing yet productive. I'll be offline probably until Monday, so don't get into too much trouble in my absence!

Yesterday was a big spend day due to getting supplies and stuff for camping. But today through Sunday should be NSD's all the way. Woo-hoo! I'm looking forward to getting out of the heat this afternoon.

Rocky--have fun!!!
Ombud, hang in there. In order to make my reconciling easier I changed the deposit date into my checking account to 10 days later in the month to match the banks statements. This means I have 37.33 in checking and 25 and change in my wallet until 9/5/2013. The only expense I can see is a new set of tires tomorrow--but that money is already set aside in an envelope so it doesn't count. If I can make it I'm sure you can.
Red--tough luck about the job.
