Would have been really big following Wimbledon and the Tour de France (winner Chris Froome wasn't born in the UK but he rides for that country) but I thought that Phil did quite the job there. I really did not want to see Tiger Woods win this.

I love Phil - he had an incredible day! So nice to see after he botched his last round at the US Open and came in second.
I still like Tiger and hope he starts winning majors again.

I'm not a fan of Tiger Woods, but then again, he lives in the area, so he gets way too much press around here, and most of it for non-golf reasons, so that admittedly colors my judgement. I am a Phil Mickelson fan, though. He and the family have been through a lot, so it's good to see him win this one, especially from so far back.

Phil also has psoriatic arthritis, so still being able to play at his level AND win is impressive enough. Congrats to him.
(I'm also not a fan of Tiger - for many reasons - and he gets way more air-time and focus put on his game and shots, than other players (such as Phil) who deserve just as much recognition.
