Good for those two teens looking out for the welfare of others. Kudos to them.

That's how I felt, Tennesseer! Made you just want to reach out and hug 'em - and the little girl, too!

LOL! I don't even care if Gosnell ate breakfast at all! I thought these boys were terrific, and you know they're proud as punch to have been recognized for their outstanding effort. I'll bet that little girl isn't going to forget it, either. Just made me smile.

*chuckle* I knew you were being facetious, dj. Yes, I'd like to see more balance in the media, but the media is out for sensationalism because that's what they perceive the public to want, and that's what the public appears to want. It's what most flock to, and what most feed into. Shame, but that's how I see it to be.

FINALLY - a feel-good story with a happy ending. That little girl will no doubt never forget the hero(s) who saved her from who-knows-what. Kudos to the young lads.
(I was seriously going through some major burnout from all the news stories/threads here about the GZ/TM case, that this story just made my day).

I'm glad they've got the creature in custody, but so sorry this little girl had to suffer at his hands. Those two boys were not able to prevent what happened, but their intervention is what resulted in the little girl being set free before she could be further injured. Her mom has said she still wants to play outside, and ride her bicycle, so she's a heroine, too. She's not letting what happened turn her into a frightened little mouse! I also read she's getting help, which I'm sure will make it even easier for her to move on. She's young and has time to heal.

(I was seriously going through some major burnout from all the news stories/threads here about the GZ/TM case, that this story just made my day). It made mine, as well, SL! There's no humor to be found in something like this, as far as I'm concerned, but there's one heck of a lot of courage, and dignity, and strength to be seen. When teens are so often painted as nothing more than PITAs, it's really heartening, to me, to see two kids like these boys show us all how great they really are. To see the community embracing them and letting them know how important they were in this case really struck home with me. That's what they need to know - they're important, they're valuable, and they're valued! That's what makes good adults - valued children!

Happened to come across this as I was reading the follow-ups: Although the suspect remains at large, Temar feels good about finding Jocelyn. "I just feel like I did something very accomplishing today," the teen said. The girl's parents couldn't agree more. WPTV (link)

what does Rik Astley have to do with this? And he's 15. How long of a record would he have? Oh, none, because he's not an adult.

... what does Rik Astley have to do with this? ... Wish I had a research assistant to find out exactly when he does "show up". Might be interesting.

He may have mistakenly thought he was being amusing. These boys did a great service for that little girl. There has been no mention of anything negative about either boy. Only positives, for them and everyone associated.

We need to know the race of the teen, man and girls, or we cannot possibly know how to process this situation.

Y'know, dj, lately around here, it's not strange, at all. I do find that sad.
