I just read the article, but I'm not that surprised. I've been to Marshfield quite a few times as it was the biggest town near where my Mom grew up. I'm glad it ended well.

I was reflecting back to the Trayvon Martin thread and a comment about how Zimmerman had an "equalizer". If only he had had the "superior" that this woman possesses.

It's a great pity the right of free speech isn't based on the obligation to say something sensible.

Spunky ol' gal! Wouldn't she be a hoot to sit down with over a cuppa? Too cool!

Why not? I mean seriously, I get really frustrated by this reaction by police. I know the left is naturally opposed to opposition to thuggery of any kind because they're whole theory of life rests on people being dependent, and independence- of any kind, is something they find threatening to their vision of the world.
But the arrogance of the police, the "just give 'em what they want, and leave the job of dealing with thugs to the professionals" is dangerous. Because the thugs aren't stupid- they learn. They learn what we're taught- give up. Let them have what they want, and we'll catch them later. That's precisely WHY the thugs think people are just going to roll over for them. That's why they're frustrated by resistance- even flummoxed by it.
I think if everyone would take the stand that if they're confronted by one of these thugs, they will NOT COMPLY, then crime would plummet. Notice how weak and stupid the thugs are- she didn't brandish a weapon, she simply refused to comply.
I'll tell you something else, this genius is lucky he didn't bring a knife to a gun fight, so to speak. Some people don't take to being threatened with a deadly weapon as well as this lady did. Mostly, people like this have to be removed in a bag.

Yup, Paul, I admire her! Glad she wasn't hurt, too!

This story has gone national now. It's on Yahoo, CNN, ABC, and CBS. Last night Diane Sawyer said, at the end of the piece, "...and what the robber didn't know... the camera is not even working.... she was bluffing... " WTE
