Correction #3. I asked DH about the fight ability of TM and GZ. He showed me an internet fight video of TM knocking the snot out of a guy. I don't have a link. Clearly TM had more fight ability than GZ. Ask you DH for the link? *chuckle* Someone sent me a link to a video of Trayvon Martin fighting. It was taken at night. The only name I ever heard called out was "Chris". You never saw one of the kids' faces. The other kid wasn't Trayvon. Utter trash. Now, the video to which Artemis is referring might be a different video. I'll be interested to see the link. |

I can find two white guys fighting in near total darkness (with one of the two's back to the camera the whole time) and claim it's George Zimmerman fighting too.

Even if one of the guys in the video had been wearing a sign that said: "I'm Trayvon Martin", it wouldn't have been particularly impressive. "Knocking the snot out of a guy"? Really? And, who was the guy? It wasn't George Zimmerman, so how do we know "TM had more fight ability that GZ"? Sorry, but there's absolutely no correlation here, even if we could tell whether one of those guys was Travon Martin ... which we can't.

LIke a good neighbor, the KKK is there. KKK tries to recruit for 'neighborhood watch' program in Springfield (MO.)On Sunday morning he went to get his paper, he made a surprising discovery. “I found the note in the front yard. And it was from the Klan,” he stated. “I was furious. I was furious.” The notice bore the name of the Traditionalist American Knights of the Ku Klux Klan. Complete with the image of a hooded figure, the flyer attempts to recruit people for a so-called neighborhood watch program. It asks, “Are there troubles in your neighborhood? Contact the…Klan today.” “That just tells you what a coward they are. A simple knock at the door, I can say I am not interested, thank you very much and go on. But instead they have to come through in the middle of the night and drop a rock in the front yard. Nah- that is a coward,” Burchett stated. Steven was not the only one to find one of these fliers in his yard. In fact, KY3 News canvassed the block and found about a half dozen more them still lying on sidewalks and in people's yards. But the other neighbors were too afraid to go on camera with us. KY3 News then called the ‘Klanline’ phone number provided on the paper. We talked a representative, Frank Ancona, who told us his group has a nationwide flyer campaign. Their goal is to get people to form or join Klan-sponsored neighborhood watch groups to help police fight crime. Ancona said he wasn’t sure if the flier were distributed as part of an organized effort by his group, or if they were distributed by individual citizen “supports” of the KKK. He also said the programs are not about race, claiming that if members saw a white guy 'up to no good' they would alert police just as well. Still, residents say they don't want the Klan's assistance. “I am upset over this. I have no use for them people. None whatsoever,” explained Burchett. “You know this is 2013. I don’t know what to say for words on that part on how much hate and discontent can just keep on going. link |

We have a neighborhood watch (at least the signs anyway  ) but I'm not sure how active it is...I don't see any patrols, although they aren't really needed (yet). Neighbors look out for each other for the most part, but some houses a few blocks down had issues with damage from gang activity (tagging, destruction of property, etc). It seems to have lessened over the past few months, though. I haven't seen any suspicious activity so far in the three years I've lived in the neighborhood, but I'd have no issues with calling police if I did. |

Our newest neighbors are now on board with how we do it here. They left for the weekend and told me they'd be back on Sunday and that someone would be over daily for their critter care.

The first clue someone has an indefensible position is when they have to make up shit to embolden theirs. On topic though- I think I will pass on the KKK watch program. Then again they are wearing hoods so you never know when you might have to stand your ground.  Yes officer- I followed this strange hooded figure that was skulking about and confronted him- he got lippy and took a swing at me......... |

Our newest neighbors are now on board with how we do it here. They left for the weekend and told me they'd be back on Sunday and that someone would be over daily for their critter care. We have much the same kind of plan, zib. There are 9 houses on our cul-de-sac. The four of us at the back of the cul-de-sac all have keys to each other's houses. We can all see all four houses, and we let someone know if we're going to be gone. With mother here and unable to travel, I'm pretty much always here so they all know they can get me if something needs to be checked on or done. We also have excellent response from 911, and have had the same from the police the few times we've had to call. It's great to have a good working relationship with your neighbors, but I realize not everyone has that luxury. I imagine it's much different in a big city apartment building than it is where I live. |

I imagine after how we cornered their agents assistant, they may have felt it was best to tell us. Hey, we weren't being nosy, we were being neighborly. I'd want them to do the same for us.
