Women Dress Code in the courtAttorneys in the county have groaned to their colleagues and judges that certain female attorneys are showing up in attire that pricks the sensibilities of a profession long known for its conservative dress code. Some female lawyers, according to many in the local legal community, are appearing in court in revealing blouses, miniskirts and, in at least one instance, sweatpants. I just let it go and was thinking I was the only one that had a problem with some of the dress / attire some co-workers would wear. I didn't have to find her attractive to think that her choice of clothes would be inappropriate for working in the office. This is not a place to pick up men - welll..... so as I was expressing my point of view before and got blasted for I was in the wrong. I for one am glad it's not just me that feels there is inappropriate clothing being worn to work.

Why would you dress for business like you dress for the bar? You're not that stupid, really? Are you? If I saw my lawyer dressed like she was bar hopping, I'd get a new lawyer. We got a new heart doctor because his office staff looked unprofessional and I told him so before we left. I then told DFs primary doc to find us someone new. The new guy, unlike the old guy, said DF did not need a stent after all. So maybe his office staff reflected his professionalism even more than I thought. Like it or not, you are judged by your appearance.

Really? This isn't appropriate courtroom attire? That judge needs to get over himself.

Every person I've seen with the "juicy" attire is about 150 pounds heavier than her.

To continue the Tennessee courts and lawyers theme: Some Guy (a Tennessee lawyer) Is Suing Apple Because He Wants Apple to Protect Him from PornIn this most ridiculous lawsuit that should expose the idiocy of mankind and/or lawsuits in general, a lawyer is suing Apple because of porn. Seriously. The lawyer is seeking damages against Apple because it makes devices that can display porn. He wrote a 50 page complaint over this! Chris Sevier, an attorney in Nashville, is the plaintiff in this inane lawsuit and he wants Apple to install a filter in its browser to block all Internet porn. That is a real thing a real person wants. He suggests that if a person over 18 wants to view porn, that they contact Apple and "sign a form acknowledge the ills of pornography, and receive a code to remove the filter." That is a real thing a real person wants. He uses words like "biological sensibilities of a male" and "cyber beauties" and that Apple employees know "that a man is born full of harmonies and attacked to by women engaging in sexual acts with the intent to cause vicarious appeal". To quote Sevier himself in the lawsuit: UNFAIR COMPETITION AND INTERFERENCE OF THE MARITAL CONTRACT: The Plaintiff became totally out of synch in his romantic relationship with his wife, which was a consequence of his use of his Apple product. The Plaintiff began desiring, younger more beautiful girls featured in porn videos than his wife, who was no longer 21. His failed marriage caused the Plaintiff to experience emotional distress to the point of hospitalization. The Plaintiff could no longer tell the difference between internet pornography and tangible intercourse due to the content he accessed through the Apple products, which failed to provide him with warnings of the dangers of online pornography whatsoever. He also tells of accidentally misspelling facebook which led him to fuckbook and how Apple basically needs to protect people from themselves. It's high comedy. Seriously, there's so much ridiculousness in this lawsuit. Read the whole 50 page thing here. It's the best worst thing of the day. gizmodo.com/some-guy-is-suing-apple-because-he-wants-apple-to-prote-762470824

Apparently, Tennesseer, the "plaintiff" has some weird syndrome that makes him unable to control his fingers on the keyboard.

LOL - He "accidentally" misspelled Facebook? Sounds more like a Freudian Slip to me - probably from watching all that Porn that Apple didn't protect him from viewing.

For him, too, it was an unemployerer.

I hope that guy doesn't reproduce....ever.
I followed the link and according to some of the comments, the lawyer has also been arrested for stalking a guy and sending photos of himself wearing nothing but an American flag and some blood. He also is not allowed to practice law because the board has ruled he is mentally unfit.

I guess it's just different for men - dress code in corporate / court. so not to go off and sticking to courtroom dress code for a guy. if he wore beach wear to the courtroom that is not going to go over very well. I guess there really isn't anything a man could wear to court that would be obvious that he's not dressing accordingly - like the sweatpants.

I can't get over what people where anywhere these days, the way a significant number of people carry themselves, groom themselves (or not), is nothing short of stunning to me. It's 1,000 times worse since I got to Florida. Half the people you see down here could have a fairly normal life, or they could just as easily be homeless. Very hard to tell the difference. Even at places like McD's where you'd think there would be, if not some corporate standard, at least a health department standard on the jewelry, hair all over the place, and work pants that look like they've never been washed. I got a coffee at DD the other day from what appeared to be a stew bum with BO that made me tear up from across the counter.
And don't even get me started on what people where to church these days. Unfortunately, the divorce rate in the church is about the same as the national average (speaking of us protestants here), and I hate to stereotype but you all know I will- it's usually the single / divorced moms that let this garbage go on, though I've seen a few with their families in tact / with dad-- the boys that come in and will not REMOVE THEIR HATS, and adolescent girls dressed like street walkers leaving very little to the imagination. I have often wondered, and someday I may actually ask: could they wear that to school? My guess is: no.

They try. Then our school wised up and got huge t shirts that didn't look clean but actually were and the girls had to wear this over their clothes all day long. It helped some but of course you always got the hooker looking moms complaining that their tramp in training was "shamed" by it. How about you being shamed that you and your daughter look like 20 buck BJ givers? Boys that tried to effect the "gangsta" look were given small ropey things to use as belts. Turns out some of the boys didn't actually have belts so along with shoes, these were given to them. Of course like the shoes, they usually ended up lost or stolen. We had one mom who returned the shoes and got money for them. Her daughter told us so the principal called her on it. Of course nothing happened so we just let the girl wear the shoes while she was in school and she had to wear her ones that didn't fit her home. Very sad, some of these parents who will steal from their own children. They choose to not provide for them and then take what others provide for them. I'd be ashamed if I couldn't buy my own a child a pair of shoes. I might just not get my nails done in order to do so! But when everything has been given to you from day one, you get the entitlement mentality. I'd have loved to hear what the mom had to say about stealing her daughters new shoes to get money for them. I'm sure some posters will think it was for food or some necessity. I don't think so.

I can't imagine going through that! And don't even get me started on what people where to church these days. I keep wanting to approach the parent of these half dressed girls, but sometimes I see mom walking right with the daughter. So I guess it's acceptable? boys with their jeans below their ass, they can't even walk unless they have one hand to hold them up! what's that about?
