That's precisely what I meant. I think there are enough of us (I include myself) who are sick and tired of hearing about how horrible this one is, or that one is, or this race is, or that race isn't, or who's going to take their gun and blow away the first <insert insulting term here> who dares to challenge them. Frankly, it makes my stomach turn after awhile. These two kids did something important, and good. What in the heck is wrong with celebrating a win? Maybe it isn't your win. It wasn't my win. However, it WAS those two kids' win, and considering what might have happened had she not been released because of those two kids it was, at least a partial win for that little girl and her family. Take that and turn it into a joke any time you like. You deal with your conscience. I deal with mine.

And here you are chiding me for my celebratory rick roll. I say we all blame Jaguar. She was the one who dumped in the article about the rape.

LOL! I WILL NOT blame Sugi for your faux pas, Virgil. This particular bucket remains on your head!

Ladies and gentlemen, we have just heard testimony from Ms. mmhmm that (and I quote) "This particular bucket remains on your head!" But let us ask: Who was the first poster to loudly "LOL!" in that thread? I submit to you ladies and gentlemen of the jury exhibit A: Reply #4, which proves that it was in fact Ms. mmhmm who first defiled the proper solemness of the thread. In the midst of a tragedy, it was none other than Ms. mmhmm's voice witnesses heard thoughtlessly bellowing out laughter. Ladies and gentlemen of the jury I ask you: what was our defendant, Mr. Virgil, to infer from this laughter if not an atmosphere of levity? As participants later "*chuckle*"'d, sang 'Kumbaya' gaily, and posted singing campfire smileys, I ask you: what was our defendant to reasonably infer about the atmosphere of the thread? Ladies and gentlemen, I submit to you that if we convict Mr. Virgil of this crime, we must also convict Ms. mmhmm for her thoughtless laughter, and convict Ms. Sugilite for her jubilant singing, and that buckets would rain down from the heavens to land upon the heads of every last witness for the prosecution. I ask you, ladies and gentlemen: Is this justice? Is this justice?

you are hilarious, Virgil. i think if you just said "oops" right away, that would have done it for mmhmm. but what do i know? Yeah, and all 10,000 posts in the Zimmerman/Martin thread could probably be summarized in 1.5 pages. Yet there they are. What can I say? We're a contentious lot.

As a result, it's awful! I shall set about bringing it back to its full glory before presenting it to you. I do hope you'll forgive the delay.
