For example: What is the greatest commandment? There can be an infinite number of theories. Only one is correct and defensible (IMO, if that makes you feel better).

 It sure wasn't "Love your neighbor, except for the ones who don't agree with your every superstition, delusion and misinterpretation".
 The exceptions and exclusions must be on some "lost addendum of amendments" to the script... ?

Lying to your neighbours to make them happy seems like a perverse way to "love" them.

There are some women who seem to have some characteristics that are more man
y than womanly. Add to that careless dress and hair and the no make up look, you've got the makings of a horse faced woman. Sarah Jessica Parker does have the long face but she usually dresses well and carries herself nicely. DF and I get into arguments about whether someone is a man or a woman. I'd hate for anyone to ever be confused like that about me.

Believe me, I'm perceiving no loss, Virgil.  It might be a good idea, next time, before rickrolling a thread take the time to read the article.  The child was kidnapped.  We didn't find out she'd been raped until after the first article was posted.  However, a kidnapped five-year-old isn't a subject for rickrolling, either, IMO.  Some took it badly, including me.

i am utterly without taste.  but i actually had a point to make.  we never talk about upbeat stories around here.  it is always really really sad stuff.  i was mocking that.  i tried to make it as utterly obvious as possible, but if anyone missed that, please slap me.

There's no mention of rape or anything upsetting in the article in the OP. It's a story with a happy ending, and even the premise of the thread is "something different"--as in: a bit of levity.

As it turns out, the story is just more bad news and really isn't "something different".

I disagree, Virgil!  Yes, the story brought bad news, but that doesn't lessen what those two teens did.  Teens get put down all the darned time for being lazy, useless PITAs.  Watching those boys' faces as the community recognized the importance of what they'd done was absolutely priceless!  For them, I imagine it was something very different, indeed.  As one of the boys said:  "I feel like I did something accomplishing today!"  Dang straight you did, son!
