Leather Seats in the car does look good - but I've never wanted them! There have been plenty of times over the years that tan leather seats for my car have say....fell into my lap - but I never took them. Now the chance is here again my Electronic shop (really did want to purchase my car) purchased a car same year and color of my Honda with leather seats and offered to switch (after he first said to sell them to me). I didn't take the swap. I have leather seats in my SUV and they get HOT Hot in the Summer and COLD cold in the winter. GF and I went to the movie one day and what she had on ...WOW she showed more skin than clothes - LOL I parked at the movie theater and I left the vista roof open. Thinking heat raises right? so the heat should go out the roof and it would not be too hot on the black leather seats? WRONG!! instead the sun was all over the seats and when we got back, she said the seat is too hot and didn't want to burn her legs. I took off my shirt for her to sit on. Now our Leather sofa - no issues.

nice! easier to keep my leather clean in the SUV than the cloth in my car. and of course keeping the leather sofa clean is way easy. just spray the leather cleaner on the sofa and wipe. We got our sofa from JCP. hope you find a great deal Shooby!

I hate leather seats in the car. unfortunately, that's all that was available in the exterior color that I wanted, when I bought my last car. thankfully, it's at least tan. if I had to buy black leather, I think I would have passed on the car entirely.

unfortunately I wish I could say the same chiver. but honestly I had no idea how hot the leather seats would get, and not to mention thinking about they are black leather. but I still think I got such a great deal on the SUV purchase. PLUS I was insane at the time I made the purchase! Laughing now shaking myhead like what the hell was I thinking?? LOL

I assume your sunroof (or vista roof) is tinted (or has a reflective coating). Why would you open it to allow the sun to directly beat heat down on your seats? It would have been wiser to leave the windows open a crack to let the air in while you were in the theater. Or if you have an automatic car-starter, you could have started your (locked) car and left it running with the air conditioning on a couple of minutes before you left the theater and it would have been cooled down by the time you got out to it.

One of our previous cars was equipped with leather seats. Loved how leather lasts forever (even with kids), but hated how cold those seats were in the winter (not a nice "wake up" on a winter morning). And, as Z already mentioned, they get crazy-hot in the summer. Makes you wonder how the cows manage in the heat.

Laughing busymom good one! fortunately with current leather seats we have option of heated AND cooled seats. but I think some vehicles it may come standard? nah - we haven't come that far yet. Plus the auto industry is starting to come out with heated steering wheel!!! my SUV is the model / year just before the heated/cooled option available, cause it is top of the line of course!

Love leather seats with heating and cooling. When DS vomited buckets all over the car (into the magazine flap and inside the speakers ) the seats were easy to wipe down. I had tan leather seats before and didn't like them - they get visibly dirty and sometimes pick up ink from jeans. I had that in my 2004 VW Touareg. Of course it broke after 40k miles and they had to replace the whole steering column.

3 pro and 2 con I do like them for the same reasons mentioned, cleaning and look. However if given the choice; with a current 2013 vehicle I would still go cloth. but I think with the upscale model car or SUV I would not have the choice of cloth? My next car I really want so bad is the 6 Series BMW. I can't imagine that I could or if it's even offered cloth interior. there's no way

Tinted windows and keeping it in the garage when home helps keep it from frying my behind. But when it sits out in the sun the seat buckle (metal parts) actually burn me. I have to run the a/c a bit before I can buckle up.
