If they were anti-Bush, they would be printed on high gloss paper and distributed to every address in America.

It really is a big deal all things considered. Women are generally treated so poorly, that it's a very good thing to see something like that. Not only keeping them safe, but allowing them to protest & be heard also.

Yes it shows growth and maturity, maybe even hope for a better day for all Egyptian women some day soon.
That's a rare thing in the Middle East.

Yeah- that is fascinating. I'd hate to live somewhere where something like that was necessary.

Egypt is a moderate muslim country- I hope you're right. I think there's at least some reason to be hopeful.

Seems to me there was a democratically elected government that has now been overthrown by the Egyptian military.

You'd be surprised, I think, at how much of that kind of thing you see in the Middle East ... as long as you're not expressly looking for something else.

The trouble with that is, those who wanted Morsi and his Muslim Brotherhood cronies out-of-office were in a majority, rather than a minority.

Something about these pictures just isn't quite right. Of course some of these pictures you wouldn't have seen on Tahrir Square because at least one of these pictures wasn't taken there. The one below was taken in Pretoria, South Africa. larouchepac.com/node/27185The credibility of The Blaze sucks.

Something about these pictures just isn't quite right. Is it that people in Eqypt can write in perfect Americanized English better than 80% of Americans?

Egypt is a good case study in whether you believe in Democracy or not. it has nothing to do with supporting the military, the civilians or the Muslim Brotherhood. it is a far more basic question.
it seems pretty clear that we only believe in elections that produce the results we want. we are not that different from Egypt it would seem.

Doug Ross, the guy who provided these pictures, is a blogger. he is not a photojournalist. he has no idea where the pictures are coming from. they might come from YEMEN as far as he knows. the Blaze, and it's devoted fans, don't give a s*&t either, as long as the message matches the agenda.

The trouble with that is, those who wanted Morsi and his Muslim Brotherhood cronies out-of-office were in a majority, rather than a minority. Based on ....? The size of Muslim Brotherhood membership (600,000 in a population of 84,000,000)... The size of the crowds demanding Morsi's overthrow, versus the size of the crowds subsequently protesting his ouster... Subjective? Imprecise, and some risk of being wrong? Absolutely. But serviceable placeholders until (and unless) more precise indicators surface.

The trouble with that is, those who wanted Morsi and his Muslim Brotherhood cronies out-of-office were in a majority, rather than a minority. there is a process for that. it is called an election. that is what is done in civilized places. Which is all well-and-good until the Incumbent... 1. trashes the old Constitution 2. crams a new Constitution down the throats of The People at the speed of light; bypassing Constitutional Courts, bypassing popular lower House, designed to keep the Brotherhood in power 3. packs High Government posts with Brotherhood cronies in anticipation of a further power-grab 4. turns to autocratic governance rather than the promised egalitarian and democratic reforms ...at which time, The Army, operating on the century-old Turkish Army model as Ultimate Guardians of the Republic and Enforcers of the Will of the People, sweep-aside such Election Mistakes; once The People themselves give voice to their regret and once sufficient evidence comes to light that the Incumbent is laying the groundwork to entrench his religious Brotherhood in-power for decades to come, if not longer. It looks more like a necessary Intervention... and just in time... without a moment to spare, so-to-speak. Time will tell whether that is a truly an accurate observation, but the early indications seem to favor such.

Which is all well-and-good until the Incumbent... 1. trashes the old Constitution. you can stop right there. that change was passed by a congressional majority and/or an absolute popular majority, right? not just "mandated" by Morsi. yes or no?
